I think it will always be a discussion that will drive fans nuts til the end of time. Did Jack Dempsey take a dive against Flynn? It was the only time in his entire career that he ever was kayoed. Far better, stronger, tougher, etc. boxers were not able to do it. Then again---- let's look at the reality here, this was Dempsey working as a ranch hand, miner, etc. in order to eat day to day. and here he was facing a former world title challenger. I imagine the lack of proper training, proper diet, proper sleep, etc. took its toll on him.

This was discussed before. The article is poorly researched. As for Dempsey being poor, that is also not backed up by evidence. Dempsey gets numbers of how much he was paid all over the place, the sum decreasing each time, he gets his chronology wrong, described his fights completely different from how they were reported in next-day reports, is contradicted by what his managers and people close to him recalled, etc.
