I think that price is more talented than chisora but at this moment this fight is all wrong for him. he could theoretically KO chisora (hard punching but inaccurate gerber hurt him too but failed to capitalize and price is more accurate and sharp) but it would be more likely that price fails to KO him (maybe even after knocking him down) and then gets slowly walked down by chisora who is not super skilled but can go a high pace and get on the inside (where price likes to trade too which is bad against an inside fighter like chisora).

price should take a couple of tune ups and rework his gameplan in the ring.
if Price could get chinned by Derek, taking it now or in a year's time isn't going to make any difference. This is heavyweight boxing.....so we should protect Price, by allowing him to batter some poor geezer who poses little or no threat?
I understand the idea of a confidence booster but at the same time I think, you chose boxing, get on with it. Or should he be allowed a free pass to a title shot fighting people who can't hit him back?
Price Chisora is a good, British, decently matched fight.

Aden wrote:Who would you match Price with Horse? I think David's number one problem is his nerves and seeming inability to relax in his fights - this was almost certainly his downfall last time out, he wasn't beaten up per se. That he has barely done any rounds hasn't helped. I think he needs to go into a few fights expecting/wanting to do rounds and learning to pace his way through twelve. Going in and knocking over a few stiffs won't help his confidence because it's not tackling the problem.

I'd argue that even if he lost a close decision on points against a decent operator like Chisora he'd feel a lot better about his prospects going forward than if he sparked a couple of no-names from Timbuktu.

If you can name me a guy who'd likely take him 12 and is less risky that Chisora, and it's easy to make, I'll put your proposal under active consideration.
Price should fight Sprott, Rogan, Lewison or Pajkic.

He shouldn't be looking to go the full 12 rounds in his next fight.

He's just been soundly beaten twice in a row, his next fight should not be a big test.

Horse, the fight with Chisora has to happen by the end of February. Would you welcome the Chisora fight in Feb if it followed a decent showing by Price against someone of the level you mention on e.g. the 07 Dec 13 show?

No. He should give up the British title if he has to.

I'm backing FW to make it happen.
Price has already lost twice this year. He's done his fair share of losing for a while and now he needs to get his career back on track, not take another beating.
I'm a fight fan. I want to see the best fights. I'm not really interested in seeing Price 'regain confidence' by despatching over matched opponents for the next 12 months. If he's good enough, he'll come through it, if not, we know his level for certain and we can get behind Chisora. Not everybody can be a champion.

How about Chisora fights Nov 30, Price fights a durable journeyman Dec 7 (Sprott?), then they fight each other in February?

Simple.

It's a good fight for the fans, and that is the main thing.

It will be interesting to see where the odds are on this. I think Chisora can do it.

It's not simple, it's foolish.

You people have no compassion. Price's career would be left in tatters, but as long as you're entertained then screw him.

However can someone still try and explain the BBBofC being able to order the fight?
Price is the British champion and Chisora has been named as his mandatory.

Amazingly I am with Horse on this one...Price should be developing a new style, getting his confidence back....not taking on one of the top ten heavies in the world

Would winning the British title effect Chisora's status as European champion?

I think when asked about this fight a while back Price said he wouldn't be keen becuase he's mates with Del.

Good fight if it does come off though, although I do agree with those saying Price is probably better off having a few rebuilding fights first.

As a boxing supporter who wants to see the best fights made, both domestically and internationally, I find your argument illogical.

Fighters can hold the British, Commonwealth, European & International/Inter-continental titles at the same time. I don't see why there would be a problem.

But I want to watch him fight Chisora in February 2014 and I'll pay to watch it. My desires are my priority.

You never know,Dereck might refuse the fight, not ducking Price or anything like that its just that he might tell the BBBoC to shove their belt after all his dealings with them, anyhow Chisoras European Champ now and has bigger fish to fry,i doubt with it going to purse bids and him being mandatory its gonna be ludicrious amounts of money being offered

Im sure Derecks wanting to be fighting for World title within 2 fights,3 tops so no point fighting Price just now for British/Commonwealth belts he,s already owned

As a boxing fan I actually care about the boxers and what happens to them.

I'm not a big Price fan, but I don't want to see him get battered into an early retirement before his career has had a chance to get going.

I am saying that I will buy tickets to watch Price fight Chisora in Feb next year and that even if he loses, providing he puts in a decent shift, I will buy tickets to watch him again in the future. I won't buy tickets to watch him fight anybody of a significantly lower standard than Chisora.

Will you ever buy tickets to watch David Price?

Stop mentioning money. You're a capitalist, but you don't have to keep going on about it.
