I can't enviasage that happening. Martinez has never expressed an interest in fighting Quigg - but he does seem determined to get that rematch against Frampton, to the best of my knowledge he has come out and stated it three times.

It's not to do with an interest in fighting Quigg though is it. If he gets offered a decent sized purse and the opportunity to take an unbeaten fighter's 0 and get another belt in the process i'd imagine he'd jump at the chance. As the saying goes, boxing is a business at the end of the day.

As I stated earlier in this thread - many of the top 10 guys had already signed to fight each other - there really were not that many top fighters available in the weight class.

Also, earlier this year Barry McGuigan stated (after Frampton beat Martinez) that he wanted Carl to fight Jhonny Romero for his World Title. But then Martinez through the proverbial spanner in the works on that one.

If you take a moment to look at rankings - Parodi is ranked in the top five in Europe... So a fight against him is not that outlandish altogether.

Well in fairness that was over three years ago! And Parodi as still a young lad back then (only 23) and since then he has won seven fights in a row. And all conclusively from I have read.

Don't you think that Carl has proven he can swim already? Carl has had a tough old road thus far - and he has kept on challenging himself... Particularly with his last three fights, no-one can doubt that they were quality opponents.

And I would also say that he has took a few minor risks - fighting Turley in Wales for example when he didn't need to make it that hard for himself.

You make some good points my old mate, and I can't argue with them. The only thing I would add as a counter-balance is:
Martinez has taken that loss to Carl personally (as some fighters do - like Carl Froch for instance)
I wonder if his pride will overcome his business sence - with the whole heart ruling over head proverb.

It could do I suppose! The thing is though that if he beat Quigg he'd be still able to that aswell! I think he'd have a better chance against Quigg than Frampton because Quigg's chin is a little suspect whereas as we all saw Frampton took full blooded shots off of Martinez and never looked particularily fazed.

Enjoying this Casey v McCullough fight, could go either way. McCullough had a great 1st round hurting Casey a couple of times, but Casey is coming back into it, had a strong last minute of the 3rd.

McCullough looked back into his stride in the 4th, his right hand to the body is a good shot

Good stoppage by the referee, Steve Lillis.

haha yeah that was 100mph interview. Casey was a bit faded, but still an impressive showing by McCullough. The lad had only been 4 rounds before, but showed great fitness in the later rounds

Frampton has said that he wants Leo Santa Cruz for his next fight. So he is game enough for it.

Need to go over to Belfast to watch a frampton fight. The atmosphere seems awesome.
