Basically hatton said they turnt into buisness mad people rather then his mum & dad & he never got hugged or told he was loved bla,bla,bla. Then his mum said in the paper the following week how long he stayed at home for then bought a house across the street.

Chavs? His Dad and granddad were footballers, they weren't rich, but just because they lived on a council estate doesn't make them chavs.

Ricky and Matthew worked hard for their money and fame, they didn't stumble over it or get it given on a plate (like many non chavs do); families have fall outs and most of them are private affairs,it's sad that there are so many rubber neckers delighting in other peoples unhappiness.

And when he "moved out" I'm sure he lived literally inthe next street and still got aall his washing done and meals cooked etc.

I think he's done well to stay as grounded as he has. I'd like to think I'd be the same person 20 odd million quid better off, but have my doubts

I don't delight in their unhappiness, far from it, they seemed a really close knit family, then when the fame came along, they all got in on the act and inevitably the wheels came off, I genuinely hope they sort out their differences.

I don't think that's the case at all.
I think its more a case that the fame is diminishing and the amassed funds also start to and maybe there's more focus on the numbers so everyone wants to know how much earned by who paid to who etc etc etc.
Not a new story in boxing generally but always very sad when it involves family.
Its not just fathers mothers sons - it's the grand kids that suffer as well and its nowt to do with them.
I hope they sort it out.

Hadn't Ray Hatton had a couple of businesses when Ricky was growing up? (pub and carpet shop); he never came across as a dim fellow. When Hatton started to make it big as pay an outside adviser it would have made sense to keep the money in the family as pay someone else I'd have done the same. Who else except your dad will look out for you and make sure that things are above board? It's not the first time a father and son relationship has been strained within boxing and it won't be the last, his mum is a different matter though really; as I said to my mum within a family row; 'I am your son and he (my dad) is someone you met in a pub' (I know what a shitty thing to say).

They're clearly not a family of chavs! Ricky is just an egotist, always was.

Cant believe anyone who knows them would reckon Ricky is the egotist in comparison with his dad, Ray is as bad as anyone. If money and fame has changed Ricky it's also changed the family, not every parent is selfless enough not to want a bigger slice of the pie you know...

No doubt the production team had a word about what they would like to see - a wacky loving family etc etc, sections would be staged and the 'film' would have been edited, they'd have been well paid no doubt and no matter how much someone (a family) have they'll want/need more; (doesn't Samantha Cameron have a hand in a luxury brand business though she and her husband are worth millions?) The production company didn't want to see a staid and stable family playing the piano and going to church - they wanted something for people to goggle at - that's what they wanted, what they paid for and what was delivered.

I'm making the call now, this family fallout is a work to sell the book.

Standby for an emotional family reunion (exclusive in one of the Sundays) before Christmas.
