I liked David Haye to begin with he was a good fighter who had promise. Wasn't full of himself and really enjoyed my night in Manchester when he blew away Fraudley. There were some promising fights in the pipeline and they were very tempting for any boxing fan. David has cost me a few quid, well £125 to be honest in cancellation fees not to mention numerous phone calls, even 2 today to Eventim, ive been on hold for 20 minutes this morning then gave up and around 20 tonight but stuck it out and held on. As I bought my tickets through credit card the money will go back in which is fair enough (emails confirming returns are out today) however mt CC is no longer active so going to have to wait and get back in touch in a few days time so more cost to a 0844 number. I took an annual leave to go to the Fury fight which was cancelled and at my work we lose increment pay (Saturdays is time and half but single time for annual leave) so I lost 4 hours pay which is around 40 quid after tax. I'm sure lots of others will lose far more as my tickets were only £125 each.

I lost patients with Haye and would never buy another ticket even if he did carry on, also would be interested to see how many did, but I would imagine he would fill another arena.

So my lasting thought is a wasted opportunity for the fans to see Haye v Fury, which while it lasted would have been a good tear up. If the fight had happened in September when it was supposed to be I would have gone no more than 3 rounds, maybe 1st round KO in Hayes favour, but it would have been a great night, just like the Eubank v Benn days.

Great fighter, particularly at cruiserweight where he was fearless and was probably the hardest pound for pound puncher.

Heavyweight career has to be viewed as a slight disappointment mainly down to the negativity he showed in his biggest 2 fights: Valuev and Wlad. I guess the guy is much smaller and so can't really be expected to go toe to toe (pardon the pun!) for an entire fight with these huge guys but his lack of ambition in particularly the Wlad fight left a bitter taste given the pre-fight hype and the fact that I spent the best part of 2k all in going to watch it.
