McDonald is OK, although he gets a little bit carried away. For the big fights, you can't beat a bit of Michael Buffer. I know he's cheesy, but when he says, "LET'S GET READY TO RUUMMMBBBLLLLLLE!" I get that little bit more excited.

That said, Chuck Hull was the man.

I like Buffer aswell ..... He is cheesy as hell but he does get you pumped for the fight! ... Seen some interviews of him aswell and he comes across as a really nice man. Doesnt seem egotistical either considering he's quite a legend in boxing circles.

Buffers also always very respectful of British fighters and our fans

I thought he used to be a Para? I'm sure he was in the parachute regiment for some time.

Personally I think he is better than a few others I've seen, at least he seems to get up and excited about the fights, not like some who speak in a drone and seem bored.

He was neither a Royal Marine nor a Paratrooper. He was in the Engineers. He also told me he did some of the voices on Spitting Image. IMDB doesn't support this claim.

I think he is a good MC though. Just full of shit.

Nothing on that link about him being a former Parachute Regiment member. He told me he was in the Engineers. It is possible for non Parachute Regiment regiments to do Airbourne and Para courses. I know a few signallers, engineers and guardsmen that have done the courses and done the jumps to qualify as a para.

I also know who did the Spitting Image voices and he wasn't one of them. He defo told me he was an Engineer and he defo he told me he did voices on Spitting Image.

Just read the Wikipedia entry in full. The link on here didn't work. It said he had a spell had a Paratrooper. That is not the same as being a Para. It doesn't mention his regiment. I would submit the guy was never a member of the parachute regiment.

John McDonald was most definitely in the Paras.
