that could explain the early ending , not that foster thought i'll stop this in the 9th before the fight rather that he beleived froch would ko groves in the 9th . and this maybe lead him to jump in early ........and i'm sure foster never bet on froch in the 9th no that never happened

was it a mistake spud.i thought it was at first but I wasnt close enough to c goerge groves eyes and he turned away.

Whilst I posted a link to what was going on twitter. I wasnt saying Foster was dodgy myself. Watching the fight back I still think the stoppage was early but Groves was taking quite a few shots on the ropes aswell and did look quite badly rocked at that stage.

He stopped it too soon, Groves took a couple of rights, backed to the ropes, fired aback and ducked and then claimed - the ref jumped in and Froch threw a couple of arm punches. That was an early stoppage, Groves wasn't in massive danger and had done brilliantly up to then boxing in the big leagues.

George will win a title and be very popular and he will come through sticky situations when the referee allows both to fight it out.

Froch got the win but had been diminished in the way it ended (unfair) and with how he has acted since (fair).

I found myself watching the fight again and I was even more shocked at the stoppage than the first time.

I just find the abuse Howard has had to take on social media is an utter disgrace.

Howard Foster is a top world class referee who has made a mistake in my view by just a few seconds ... we are all entitled to our opinions and mine is George Groves would have been stopped legitemately if Howard had hung on a few more seconds.

People cannot say anything for definite either way - I agree with those who are frustrated but have kept their comments repsectful.

I am going to say it again - Howard Foster is a top man and a top Ref - and the abuse he has had to take is a disgrace, stupid ****s.
