I have no desire to watch Groves -v- Degale 2; I've had my fill of Degale calling Groves 'Ugly Kid' & acting like a complete arse, whereas Froch -v- Groves 2 is the fight I most want to see next.

Froch gained the vast majority of his fans by being honest, decent and fighting the hardest fights available to him. He is obviously going to lose a fair few in doing the exact opposite.

Secondly the ref got booed for the stoppage and ruining the end of a barnstorming fight , George got cheered as the underdog who did far better than Team Froch ever expected him to do and Carl got booed for the lack of generosity shown post fight an attitude that he continuing with even after all the flack he's got.
Like you say though he couldn't care less what anybody thinks as long as they pay their hard earned money to see him fight and you know his character well.

Carl Froch seems to be becoming very sensitive in his old (for boxing) age.

I don't get how so called abuse would make a warrior like Carl Froch shy away from having a rematch with a fighter who had given him his toughest fight in years.

Why would he worry about such things?

He's a fighter's fighter who always takes on the best & while he won the fight, he surely knows that the stoppage is tinged with controversy & a man of his ilk would surely want to have a rematch to emphatically beat Groves & put the first fight's ending to bed?

That's because they aren't true Froch fans. Where were they in the early days? They are casuals who have jumped on the bandwagon and will quickly jump off. To be honest, a lot of lads on my fb page who have watched him from the start and were there the other night are sticking by him. He did nothing wrong the other night but really rubs people up the wrong way.

Froch has been arrogant, disrespectful and hypocritical throughout this event and I have completely turned against him as a result. This interview has, somehow, made him even more unlikeable!

All this talk that it was 'inevitable' that he would have stopped Groves is utter nonsense. He had him stunned yes, but it was a disgracefully early stoppage, simple as that.

What Carl needs to understand is that the fans are what drives the fights and that all the British fans want a Groves rematch. So he can forget about Ward, which is completely unrealistic, and make a decision. Rematch or retirement.

The idea you came on here to float around is nothing more than an escape route, it stinks. If Froch (who is obviosuly your brother or close friend) is so confident he was in control of the fight from the 7th onwards, that he had Groves out on his feet in the 9th and only needed 10 more seconds to totally wipe him out, he'd jump at the chance of a rematch to set the record straight.

Froch, yourself, and his whole team are giving out all the wrong signals. None of you are doing yourselves any favours.

I've been an "admirer" of his since the relatively early days. Before the Pascal fight. I think you have to admire a guy who's fought that level of comp consistently even if it was forced upon somewhat.

I cant remember a decision that has had such an affect.. even with friends who are best big fight fans were shocked by the decision.... for me Froch knew he got out jail and he doesnt fancy having his face used as more target practice and it appears to me he is looking for any excuse not to give a rematch.. I think about what ricky burns when he said that he wants to give beltram a rematch because of the flack that he got from friends and people in general, just unfortunate that he got pressured by the IBF to fight Crawford...

The ref already robbed us of good fight and more than likely we will be robbed by froch not wanting a rematch.. warrior..... no.... not really!!!!

What are you picking on me for, dickhead? I have probably been the most critical of Froch on here for years and GOmez will confirm that. I'm stating facts. They were fickle, I was sat in the middle of them. I bet the fans who used to go to the York Hall to watch him didn't cheer Groves out of the ring.

i didnt want to come and break up to early.... i know the flack that has gone on this forum when that happens ;;-) :)

The rematch has to happen. What better way to go than silencing the doubters? That would have to be it though. Ward would be madness. To beat Groves, his first real rival, in a super fight would be the icing on the cake for him.

I'm actually not sure they need each other in a rematch? Froch can retire a winner and legend in the ring, Groves can move forward hard done by, massive momentum from the support he has generated - he will likely be a world champ with or without Froch.

i'm not fussed about a rematch, we all have our opinions but the bottom line is we have 2 tremendous British Fighters. One on way out, One on way in. Let the good times roll for both men at this phase of their careers and lives.
