It's the perfect fight for Price. He was rushed into the first Thompson fight far too early. He should have been fighting guys that stretched him into the later rounds. Top quality journeymen. Lennox Lewis fought the likes of Ossie Occasio and Dan Murphy in learning fights. Price should have been fighting the likes of Zack Page, a fighter that would frustrate him and take him the distance. Bring back Everett 'Big Foot' Martin'.

To be fair, Thompson isn't actually any better than Occasio. In a sensible era, he'd be no better than a trial horse.

Don't talk complete bollocks man. Occasio was a journeyman when Lewis fought him. Price had only ever lost to the best heavyweight on the planet. Occasio had lost his previous four fights.

Rushed? Are you serious?

Lennox boxed the fighters you name within a year of turning pro.

Price is a 30 year old man who has been a full time boxer for over 10 years and a pro for nearly 5 years

Yes, he was rushed. He was not ready for the Thompson fight. No way, no how. Price has never fought the Occasio's and Murphy's of the world. Look at Lewis' progress. Mostly a steady increase in quality of opponent, a variety of different styles to help him learn his trade. Mike Weaver, Tyrell Biggs and Levi Billups. What a great mix of styles to learn from before facing Razor Ruddock.

Price went from Matt Skelton to Tony Thompson in one giant leap.

That's like going from driving an '05 Vauxhall Vectra, to driving a low mileage, 13 reg 7 Series BMW. Madness.

After boxing all over the world and boxing full time for over a decade if he isn't ready now then in my opinion he never will be ready.

Every fighter should be given learning fights. He's never been past the 7th round FFS. If you think he's been brought along right, I'd hate you to be my manager.

You are talking as if Thompson is some kind of superstar -if he can't beat the likes of Thompson now then he never will. Actually he is even less likely now as opponents will know he is vulnerable to a big shot and Price also knows it himself.

8 round contest which will be broadcast on Allegedly Channel
Fantastic news!!

I honestly think Adam Booth will be good for David Price & signing for Sauerland is a smart move.

Good we can have some proper fights for those belts now Price was getting like Vitali with not defending those belts.
