I'm not sure I would fancy Bellew to fair a great deal better against Huck, Hernandez, Jones or Wlodarczyk.

Bellew has never been a Lt/Heavy, think He knows that deep down. It restricts Him.

anybody else notice the low blow just after the knockdown?
I was willing him to fake it a bit and try to gain a few seconds respite to clear his head.

I don't think it'd be that short and imagine it'd be a walkover; I think Kovalev would stop Stevenson though, he looks very very solid.

Kovalev was knocked out as an amateur and Boone dropped him in their first fight. His chin isnt rock solid. He's not like a Froch type who himself still gets dropped from time to time.

But unlike the iron chinned Froch; who was dropped heavily the other week - Kovalev has one punch knockout power in either hand.

kovalev is amazing for 1-4 rounds. but we do not know what he'll be like after this. actually, by destroying opponents so early, he won't be able to build up stamina. what happens if Stevenson gets by these danger rounds, fights back on his own terms, beats kovalev to the punch with those brutal lefts? maybe he'll react like matthysse did vs danny Garcia. maybe he'll plod like lebedev has done when fights go long. maybe he'll be just as good as he looks early - don't just assume things are going to go kovalev's way, all the time.

apparently both did strong ratings on HBO. maybe we'll find out who's the best.

Kovalev looks fantastic, but I'd like to see him fight Hopkins, to see how he handles someone that he can't catch clean.

I think he'd spank Hopkins, not only is he a hellacious puncher, but he's quick and very mobile. Hopkins would have to hold, spoil and mug all night long - I don't see how he could possibly win an actual real fight with Adonis, he'd get his ass kicked.

I think that one would be a hideous fight to watch!!

i think Tony is one of those fighters who is just below world class and just above European a top ten gatekeeper if you will but like Macklin. No matter the weight.

Agree, and I also think Ward gets beat too should Andre go up to 175. I struggle to see how Ward can win the fight at mid or long range, he'd have to do all his work up close, but there's no guarantee Ward will be more effective than Kovalev up close at all.

I did a poll on the CS about Ward/Kovalev and interestingly the majority see Sergey winning by stoppage.

Just watched it , credit to Tony he boxed well but the power took over in the end. Well done anyway.
