All in all the board do a good job, Harrison's troubles are consistently of his own making
The Luxembourg outcome might change things....gobbles wrote:How is it cloak and dagger? They will regret it if a rival board do come through and most boxers move over
As for the old "rival board" chestnut. Sky, nor any self-respecting broadcaster, would ever work with a rival board. So there would never be enough money in it to give it any future beyond small halls.
If things like a boxers' union have never got off the ground, could you really imagine all the big name British boxers turning their back on the Board out of support for a handful of boxers who have problems with them.
The point with Scott (who I have found to be a nice guy every time I met him) is surely, hasn't he been given a prison sentence in Spain that he has yet to serve. I asked that point earlier, but no one has answered.

Think you are misinformed mate?? Who said he was good at boxing??dalcumly wrote:A wee message for Ronnie Clark - if you don't know what you're talking about you'd be far better shutting your mouth and concentrating on what you're good at - boxing.

RonnieTheSharkClark wrote:Because Scotland dont have much say in the bbbofc ;) ha If im honest the meeting was boring as fcuk all they talked about was the figures, and as an outsider they never had a clue! ;) I did pick up
England have 3 Admin Stewards
Wales have 1 Admin Steward
Ireland have 1 Admin Steward
Scotland have 0 Admin Stewards
Could the boxing board be maybe helping themselves?!? Who deals with the figures?
924 bbbofc members this year at say roughly £100 a licence ;) Where does that money go? Everyone on the board work for free dont they?!
I take it Ronnie the relevant paperwork the board requested never got handed in?RonnieTheSharkClark wrote:I know what I'm talking about ;)dalcumly wrote:A wee message for Ronnie Clark - if you don't know what you're talking about you'd be far better shutting your mouth and concentrating on what you're good at - boxing.
There are very few members of the board who are on a salary (literally a handful). The vast majority of board members are volunteers and merely claim expenses.JoshuaMcArdle wrote:the board is a joke of rich boys who have never boxed who worry about there own reputations rather than the sport itself, the amount of times boxers get punished for stupid things yet allegedly does what he wants and that alright because hes apart of the gang, boxing needs to be put into the boxers hands not numptys on big salaries when the average boxer earns peanuts, when the board of a sport earns more than a fighter its bad news
dalcumly wrote:If Scott Harrison can prove that there are no outstanding court cases against him involving violence, he's physically fit and has no outstanding contractual issues and he doesn't owe licence holders money then the Board wouldn't refuse his licence I don't think.
But is it not right that the Board have to satisfy themselves of this and if Harrison hasn't complied with Board requests then whose fault is it ???
But when its all said and done - what is the point of him getting his licence back ??? Is he going to be a 6 round journeyman to earn a few pounds. If that's the case then good luck to him, but he'll be fighting much taller men at welter/ light middle and they'll enjoy whacking him as he comes in , in slow motion.
Time to move on Scott.
I'm intrigued, please elaborateCallowland wrote:Perhaps Scott should ask for his scorecard from the Board for the Eric Odumase fight which he is entitled to do.

This is like a cliffhanger... do I have to wait until next week, I'll have bit my nails off.Callowland wrote:It is intriguing.palooka wrote:I'm intrigued, please elaborateCallowland wrote:Perhaps Scott should ask for his scorecard from the Board for the Eric Odumase fight which he is entitled to do.
How? That was 19 months ago. The only change now is that the GDA sanction a few shows in the UK, mostly filled by unlicensed or retired fighters.Callowland wrote:The Luxembourg outcome might change things....gobbles wrote:How is it cloak and dagger? I think what Callowland may be getting at is that when the LuxBox/Malta/WBU/etc eventually end up in court with the BBBOC and the Board have to declare they have no right telling their members who they can work for as per EU directives, it may give other licence holders the assurance that they need to work for other organizations. On that note does anyone know what happened about Chris Jenkinson who boxed on a Malta sanctioned bout at York Hall? I know he's fought a couple of times since.gobbles wrote:How?
