Some of these names may come and go as I just kinda went off the top of my head, but the first 5 are locks for all time. Gatti and Morales are some of the reasons why I became a die hard Boxing fan in the first place.
Augustus would be on mine too :TU: (I know you said you'd drop him in a later post) but I can't think of my top 10 as a whole really
Oh yes, even though I later said I'd drop him. That's only because we can only choose 10. I loved watching Augustus fight and will always be a fan.
Choose as many as you want mate. I'm no thread Nazi.

The Doughboy? That's great, his fight out of the crowd with Morrison was hilarious.

On another note I see both Hearns and Leonard on lists. Can anyone that loves them both that much explain that? They're certainly two all-time greats, it was just pretty divided at the time and the nature of their rivalry makes that hard for me to understand.

Worked out for a while in a gym in Whiting Indiana with him and Marty Jakubowski
The guy was hilarious in a great way. Friendliest person you could ever meet. It was always "golly" and "Gee wiz" super nice to everybody. Thats how I remember him at least. It was a long time ago and havent seen him for many many years. I wonder what happened to him.

That too. No I'm not joking, I was just wondering. Morales/Barrera, Marquez/Pac, Frazier/Ali, etc.. they all seem like an either or for me. Unless it's someone younger without the emotion of a live fight, that's understandable.

count me in for one of those posters, albeit i set Leonard and Ali aside in their own subcategory, which I'll try to explain.

for me at least, Leonard/Ali gets my manlove simply by virtue of the way he moved. i mean, i could watch him for 3 minutes doing nothing more than moving around the ring. i find the relatively uneventful first 9 minutes of SRL-Hearns pretty much thrilling, for no other reason than that. most of my other favourites have got slightly deeper reasons behind the mancrush but with Leonard and Ali, for want of a better phrase, they just make boxing aethetically beautiful to me, in a way no other fighters ever have.

I was getting ready to type that I didn't understand, this makes all the sense in the world. I was 6 for the last Ali/Frazier fight and loved Ali during the end of his career. I became more of a Frazier man as I grew up but I like both of them. Any of the big rivalries I was around to watch, I had a clear rooting interest. Of course at the same time, Hearns and Duran are two of my favorites. It might just be that I always hated Leonard, even as a kid.
