Would love to see him more active i dont understand all the hatred towards british fighters we should be supporting all of them.
How can you not understand the hate towards James "I'm going to say Ugly Boy 200 million times pre-fight, because it wasn't annoying and unfunny enough the first time" DeGale?
It's got nothing to do with the fact that he's British, and everything to do with the fact that he's a total bellend.
daviddee wrote:Degale would make Froch look even more average than Groves did.. Froch struggles with movement and angles.. Degale would hit him all day and Froch would swing and miss. Degale would win almost every round.
The Groves backlash is getting ridiculous now. The same Carl Froch that took rounds off Andre Ward and consistently beaten world-class opposition would get whitewashed by a guy who hasn't operated in the big leagues and who has been tagged by fighters far below Froch's level
Exactly, DeGales lost rounds to far worse fighters than Froch.
Froch got blindsided by a peach of a punch that he moved right into. The after effects made him look slow and robotic for 6 rounds. Groves teed off and landed his best shots but Carl took them, weathered a huge storm and came back to stop him, prematurely. Because of that he now doesn't land a punch on lazy Chunky
This is no Froch backlash. I said Degale would be all wrong for Froch before he fought Groves. How many times has Degale been wobbled?? Groves hits harder than Froch.. Degale has a good chin and doesn't take punches. Maybe whitewash is wrong l. Wide unanimous like Ward did

This won't come back to haunt me!!
Froch is second for another 18 months & groves third & will get over taken by Callum smith in 2-3 years time if brought along right
By the looks of him, Callum Smith will likely be at light heavy in few years. No way degale beats Froch at this stage. Not for me. Froch would stop him.
I reckon Froch would struggle to pin DeGale down for the first half of the fight but when James starts backing up against the ropes,Carl will pour it on him and have him the way Bute was sagging on the ropes

Fraud is a bit harsh
Possibly but it depends on how you define fraud. To me, it's reserved for someone who is an imposter who is deceiving others when the reality is different. I'm not convinced that DeGale is even world class, fringe world at best probably, and talk of him winning a world title is laughable. An Olympic gold medal and a terrestrial TV contract, combined with a can of Strongbow, is enough to convice the masses that DeGale can pull it off. There's more chance of Dennis Hobson sending Jamie McDonnell a Christmas card.

Kid makes 12st nice, jg even considerd middle which I think would be horrific!! He talked Liam into contesting at l. Middle where I think his strengths really come into play despite being able to do welter no probs.callum could easily end up a cruiser & I wasn't joking when I posted it.
Degales not given credit for his strength & durability, look how groves couldn't stand his ground with him & that wasn't just tactics believe me & groves bulled froch about no end before gassing. Paul smith is a strong tough kid pushed groves I know in a short time better & got beat at his own game v degale just because degale is awkward & not a dangerous banger makes his fights longer with his opponents looking poor & reflects on him, when he gets the names you will see his class or just say the name was never that good
columbo wrote:I wouldnt get too caught up in the hype of Callum Smith just yet. No doubt he looks talented but he hasnt fought anyone who can test him yet.
I know your right but he has great boxing skills & ring awareness & has become a banger!!
However he may not take a punch or have the durability or toughness required to hit the heights but his other brothers do so you would naturally think he's cut from the same cloth so to speak, but you never know.
I think Degale would get a onesided pasting by Froch.
I think Degale v Groves 2 would be a great fight.
and finally I think Froch v Groves 2 - will be very similar to the first fight except Carl would stop George sooner.
I think George may pace himself a little better in the rematch.
He got excited when he badly hurt Carl,'went for the kill and shot his bolt.
Regarding DeGale he is far from a fraud, he has a lot of natural talent but he needs tightening up a bit.
Technique looks slack at times but he has natural power.

Stieglitz, Bika and Froch? He has a good shot at them all IMO. If Foster had not stopped Groves so rediculously premature he'd be champ right now, and I personally felt DeGale pipped their fight (queue backlash).
Time will tell, I think he's good but he's got a lot to prove yet. He needs to hurry up and get on with his career now.
