Now you know more about boxing with what goes on behind the scenes - be honest would you still change over from football.

yes 100%, the only reason to stay in football would be for money, money isn't my god so it was a easy choice, I love boxing, moneys crap but I wake up every morning looking forward to going to work, what more can a man ask for? during my 7 years as a pro boxer ive met a handful of people I didn't like, in my 10 years as a footballer I met a handful of people I liked, boxing is a lot better game to be involved in than football, if you think boxing is full of snakes try football, the game is rotten to the core

Mavzuna Chorieva won the women's lightweight bronze at London 2012. She grew up in Tajikistan (a place with areas almost as tough as Peckham) and traveled the country disguised as a boy to enter tournaments. I remember speaking to an African fighter who fought Lennox Lewis - said his purse for that fight was £15k - he said he ended up with £1.5k.

The only thing that I would argue with you is the point about money - it pays the bills Curtis!!

A job in boxing whether you are the fighter, promoter, manager or a member of a team, in reality its even more short term than football in the majority of cases. In the back of your mind you know its coming to an end, but boxing has something about it that keeps drawing you in!! whats more the money in most cases is getting worse and worse!!

Boxing is f*cking tough for boxers trying their best to get to title level where they can earn a few quid - I remember one example - Lee Meager - when I stayed at the Lennox Lewis College I remember Lee getting up at some horrible hour to go and work the roads, he would arrive back late afternoon to get changed for training - I know of other boxers who got the sack off their day jobs because they wanted so much time off for boxing.

Manny Pac & Joe Frazer had real tough starts to life,
Chuvalo has had a seriously rough period
& Joe Louis & Tim "Doc" Anderson had terrible ends (admittedly Anderson is still alive but his end story is a shocker).

What happened to him after boxing? He was pretty touted at one point...

He boxed last Saturday, and in his ringside interview said he was close to killing either himself or someone else only six months ago.

No, post fight sat at ringside, on BN.

I am not saying Femi Fehintola is the only boxer to have had it rough growing up - but its just the life he had in Bradford was tough.

When he went professional the only thing I wished for was for him to make it to championship level - it would be fantastic if he had, his story even as a professional has been tough.

I hope Femi finds the right direction in life

He boxed for the British and in America. He has been on some very good cards and not had a bad career .
