Gavin is being mismanaged and needs to get a new manager/promoter. I'm not talking about the contractual minefield, I mean purely on the grounds of his career going down the toilet. From his Sun column, Fwank regularly snipes at the lack of progress of Brook (world level progress). Its clear the split still hurts him. As I recall, Kell wound down the remaining fights/months on his contract and walked away, instead of taking up the contract renewal option.

At the time, fans were wondering why Kell was going nowhere fast. As time passed, it became clear - the promoter wasn't going to invest in a fighter who was going to bugger off. Which is understandable.

When Gavin was fighting Pryce at xmas, I wondered if there was a similar situation in the background. In April 2011 Fwank announced Frankie had signed a 3 year contract extension. Does that mean its up in April or later this year ?

It's total speculation on my part, I just want to see Frankie in against somebody world ranked and recognisable so we can see him show what he can do on a big stage.

Stick him in Birmingham and he will sell big, it's just that he never fights there. The Welborn fight was sold out a month before and he sold 1,000 for his debut, then 750 for the Magnificent 7 show that had Macklin on as well and plenty will have bought tickets from one to see both and vice versa. I'm not sure this in Gateshead Leisure Centre, it's only Boxrec that's saying that, Frankie and Bradley Saunders have both said there's no venue confirmed. Hopefully they bring Aydin over in March if they can't get Bundu, he's fought in the US a couple of times and I'd back Frankie to do a number on him and if he could stop him it would be a big statement. He won't leave Warren after he stood by him through all the issues after Woodhouse and pulling out before the weigh in and I don't think he needs to, just put him in Birmingham and bring someone over, nothing that any other promoter couldn't do.

Aydin would be a great opponent but he seems to have powerful backers ? He gets chance after chance and there's clearly some clout behind him. Can't see him coming over here but I'd love to see it.

After losing to Guerrero, he got the Soto Karass fight, but that was probably down to Golden Boy liking it because of the way the styles matched up. He's promoted by Ahmet Oener, a Turk based in Germany. I think he would travel for the right price, it's up to Warren now. They fought twice as amateurs and Frankie won both, I think Selcuk was disqualified in the second of the two after getting pissed off at not being able to land and attempting to start a wrestling match or something.

Both have differing views on it, but I think Aydin struggles to win a round now.

This talk of Gavin not being in Birmingham is very true it's the same as when they had Cleverly in London travelling there for a half full venue, but when he fights in Wales where the card is probably a lot cheaper (in terms of names) you see nearly a sell out.

There aren't enough fighters of a decent level to put on a show in Wales and make money without a world title fight. Cleverly isn't enough of a draw for TV without a belt either. When Warren can sell 2,000 tickets between Buglioni and Kean, plus Liam Walsh sells well and the Evangelou's do, he has little reason to put on shows outside London right now.

So Warren's Aintree show on 1st March 2014 has got Butler, Selkirk, Stalker and Satchell on. I figure that means the show scheduled for 7th or 8th March at the Echo arena has been knocked on the head.

Smart move getting Stalker, I heard he shifts upwards of 600 tickets. That is a serious amount of bums on seats, jumping from Matchroom to Warren.

No mention of Dirty Derry vs Commey though........... I wanted to see that, Commey is 17-0 with 17 stoppages

I can see this one being sold out, 600 from Stalker, plus 1,000+ from Butler and Fagan along with Selkirk, Stalker and various others on the bill could well see 4,000 in for it.

March 15the the wife goes on a girls weekend. So I really, really want that date to have major boxing on...

Surprised at some of the posts here. Frankie looked brilliant against Pryce. He's really improving and I think steady, steady... By the end of the year perhaps a bigger fight...but he's looking exceptional. Skill level very, very high.

The skill's always been there, it's the fitness and strength that's really impressed me, Vassell was meant to be too big and strong and Frankie absolutely bullied him, outboxed him on the outside and pushed him back on the inside. Some of the improvements he's made are incredible, taken a minute a mile off his runs and the circuit he does, 6 stations of 50 exercises that took him 25 minutes at the start of the year, now takes just 14 minutes.
