That fight is probably a major part of why this deal is likely to happen.

Doesn't Wlad vs Chisora make more money than Fury vs Chisora II?

Fury's going to ruin Chisora's recent good run towards another world title shot. They should both be chasing a world title mandatory challenger position, not getting in each other's way.

It'd be good if they could cooperate to make each other have a better chance.

He said a lot and I lost some respect for him as a consequence, if he's fallen out with Sky Sports and burnt bridges purely because he doesn't know what the word "pretender" means in the context Adam Smith used it (i.e. young pretender, which is an accurate assessment of Fury's status and is non-pejorative), he may not be quite as wise as people seem to think he is.

Words have different meanings and Smith can be a bit too knowing sometimes and to be honest I prefer someone who speaks from the heart whether I agree with them or not; there are too many smarmy people with fantastic vocabularies who do not give anything of themselves away. Sky are aligned with Haye in any case and have done Fury no favours for his camp to be bothered.

Can't see Hennessy giving even 1% control of fury to Warren doesn't make business sense to me, I think it's more likely Fury just fighting on allegedly and a joint promotion if Chisora and Fury meet again. Saw Tyson recent photo of him looking very out of shape, makes more sense him coming back in March.

The point I'm making is that in a recent interview, Peter Fury implied that he fell out with Adam Smith and Sky Sports because Smith introduced Tyson as "the young pretender". He said "Sky Sports can go fornicate themselves" or words to that effect. If that's right, he's dropped a bollock, in my view - cutting off a major television network because he doesn't understand the meaning of a particular word in a particular context surely isn't shrewd business?

It seems it is just a case of signing for possibly 2 fights (a warm up and then Chisora in June) to fight on allegedly and then going from there.
x2 - this seems to be a 1 or 2 fight deal at this stage, probably as a co(ish)-promotion in Feb and not 'Fury signs with FW lock, stock and barrell'.

Fury not at the press conference, Peter Fury says they haven't even agreed promotional contract never mind signed one and are still promoted by Hennessy sports. Hennessy believes it's a 2 fight tv deal similar to Framptons but hasn't received contract yet. Very similar to Wilder situation

Basically because I want them both to get world title shots in the next year or so, not just one of them.

Hennessy said it's a 3-fight deal, verbally agreed, not signed yet.
Interesting the C5 angle. Could just be Fury wants more money than they pay. Still have DeGale and Galihad to fill the gap.

Good move for Fury but dont see how this is good for Hennessy.

I hope everything is secured and in black and white :TU:

Seems like FW is jumping the gun just a little bit! Let's see what happens over the next few days, then everybody can make an informed assessment on the situation.

Why can I see this falling apart (followed by accusations of fury avoiding chisora in the sun)?

Much more fun to dive in headfirst though !

If the promoters can jump the gun, so can we :)

Its brilliant for B ox N a t i o n, and I can see it working for both promotional parties in terms of the Fury's, but I am not so sure about DeGale. He has always been a massive earner for each fight. I am sure Warren was glad to be shut of him. It's not like chunky has a homebase of fans that can fill an arena like Froch or Frampton. For the life of me I cannot see how Hennessey can fund any DeGale purse if he is reliant on the television income from B o x N a t i o n - I'm not sniping, but it has to be a fact of life that the channel won't pay massive money for domestic shows. Hennessey has handled DeGale to a closer opportunity for a world title. He is second in the WBO, only behind King Artur, who will soon be out of the way which means DeGale will get a mandatory slot - probably without even throwing another punch for the time being. Meaty Mick won't want to lose a fighter in that position but I can't see how it is financially do-able to promote him in this country unless he's in a massive fight, or lowers his purse demands.

It's a co-promotion deal. Got to be good for everyone concerned.
