Il Duce you do know that Dundee never personally wrote the poster don't you? If Quarry, as a world ranked fighter and someone fighting the exiled Ali in his next fight can be called "California Bomber" a nickname he never had, the I'm sure they wouldn't worry too much about getting a journeyman fighters name correct. Printing errors are common.
No one knows with 100% certainty what his forename was but as I said before out of the two I'd say the interviewer is more likely to be correct over a poster that has already proved to be wrong.

I think it has to be Stamford. I have never ever heard of a Stanford...with the Stamford Raffles connection my hunch would be that. Stamford.....it is..

Klompton's examples have proved posters are unreliable. Plus referring to Quarry as the "California Bomber" has blown the posters reputation to bits. Therefore I am still leaning towards the first hand interview from Stamford Harris as being able to give his correct name. Until a birth certificate is produced then I will stick by this and not third hand entries or desperate attempts / clutching at straws to prove something that ultimately proves nothing and still leaves it open to interpretation.

The most recent article dated 5th Feb 1973 is the interview where he states his name was Stamford Antonarias. Stamford is also an old English name, as is Stanford. Jamaica being a British colony dating back several hundred years its highly likely Jamaicans called their children Stamford or Stanford. To assume the author spelt it wrong is only speculation as it can be spelt both ways.

I assume the popularity ranking is in America, not Jamaica, so not an accurate reflection. Even if it was more popular that doesn't mean he wasn't called Stamford does it. It might be a family name handed down through the generations for all we know. We are all speculating so no one is more right than anyone else. The only source where he was directly interviewed he gave his name as Stamford, for that there is no denying. To change that event without any solid proof or saying it must be wrong because Stanford was more popular is futile.

Still no proof as far as I can see. Plenty of examples of newspapers referring to him as Stamford including where Foreman busts the eardrum of sparring partner Stamford Harris. As there is no sign of the "interview" with him that you claimed the only interview we have states his name as Stamford.
The interviewer described his face, his accent and got his real surname out of him. A surname so unusual he would have needed him to spell it, as he would his forename. If you say Stanford and Stamford out loud they sound almost identical, easy for people to get them mixed up. All other references don't hold much weight and don't contain any other information the interview did. An interview with the person is the best your gonna get it seems or his birth certificate.
Il Duce you clearly have no problem believing his surname was Antonarias so you are just cherry picking what you want to believe. What can't speak can't lie.

Il Duce, do you know whether the Jamaican Cancer Society you refer to above are for or against cancer? It's important to be sure.

So, you are calling another Author - Bob Markus a........'LIAR'
Page; 149
Why don't you call him up and tell him that. So he can come over to your house, and
'slap your face'.
Do you have his number? I'll call him.
If he is genuinely going round spreading these vile lies about Stamford Harris's name really being Stanford (or possibly the other way around) then somebody needs to do something. And by God, I might just be the man for it.

I never called anyone a liar. You said there was an interview with Harris and I asked you to post it. You didn't so how do we know what it says?

I just found the "interview" you refer to, it isn't an interview at all, no different to all the other references to Harris. So still only one interview that I can find.

As said earlier Stanford and Stamford sound almost identical, very easy to mix them up. Doesn't prove anything.

I disagree, this is very important stuff. You've got poor Standford Cocking going around doing his best to give everyone in Jamaica cancer, and some so-called author is writing lies about him. I think it's an outrage. (I may be a bit confused on some of the points, but I think I have the gist of it).

To be honest I'm not sure why he is arguing as he initially called him Stamford and then edited his entry and changed it to Stanford. Luckily I'd already quoted him so he was unable to edit that version.

According to 'Jamaica Joe',
Stamford Harris started boxing in Kingston, Jamaica back in 1953, as a 16 year-old muscular 200 lb.
brawler.
In January 1973, a 35 year-old - Stamford Harris {5' 9 1/2" and 233 lbs.} was instrumental in helping
Challenger - George Foreman prepare for 'Smokin' Joe Frazer.

Haha let it go man, newspapers are not facts. There are just as many articles calling him Stamford, they prove absolutely nothing.
Read the interview again, the only interview with the man direct.
"Over in the Skyline Hotel is a fighter who has been in a bout with George Foreman. He is a Jamaican heavyweight who fights out of Miami and is known as the Big Bamboo, a sobriquet invented by the group of stockbrokers from Toronto who discovered him. His real name is Stamford Antonarias, and everyone calls him Harris, or Two-O-Two, which is his weight. He is very popular among the cab drivers who stand in front of the hotels because he is a local fighter and has been in there with George, and what was that like? He has a round face, the size of a small pumpkin, with a few of his front teeth missing, and he has obviously suffered in the boxing wars, though he remains cheerful and honest about his record".
Pretty conclusive.

You know if you search Max Kadin and Stamford Harris together you hit Brooklyn College library, very detailed research on boxers, photos, scrapbooks, locations, programs, press kits and more. Guess what? Stamford Harris photos listed in one index, Max Kadin in another index.
So thanks looks like you confirmed it was Stamford after all.
