I thought he looked like Price. The Thompson fights highlighted for me more than just the chin/engine worries, but also how upright and stiff he is. He reminds me of the stereotype of the "british" heavyweight when the yanks used to really take the piss out of us.

The chin is still in the air and the footwork is still piss poor.

Nothing going to put muscle on his chin and the resolve to fight back needs to come from within, does he have that? I noticed it early on in his pro career in a couple of fights I saw ringside when the other guy came forward there was just an air of fragility about him and it was magnified against Thompson, twice. I really don't see where he's going to get any better once he faces someone who comes back at him after taking a couple. Shame as he comes across as a great bloke and he is a good offensive fighter, but he's not got the requisite toughness at world-class level when the shells start flying back.

You are bound to at times get a little nervous if you are walking in front of 10,000 knowledgable and passionate Scouse fight fans singing You Never Walk Alone as he must have thought at times 'Shit I have got to deliver tonight'. Which is why he looked a tad stiff. More time on the road and he will be just fine,

i hated when "fans" came to watch me it just adds extra pressure at a time when when it's not needed .

He'll have to go home eventually though and the old pressures will be bearing down on the old fissures.
