How so?
It's not true as the IBF forced a rematch. Hearn's offer is irrelevant

Froch has said nothing. He hasn't engaged in any battle.
His promoter has tabled the offers and Groves has spat on them, then launches an appeal to the IBF and goes screaming to the press that accepting a £1,000,000 + offer is actually "Selling his sole"
"Fighting for a world title was my main priority. I didn't want to surrender my soul for it, and I now have the option of deciding from multiple promoters."
The more I read of his comments to twitter and the press, that he is actually looking at worming his way out of the fight. He is deliberately stalling to get other promoters involved, to force Froch to relinquish the IBF title.
Only a complete and utter idiot goes around trying to blacken Sky / Hearn's attempts to make the fight .... when you do nothing to actually make the fight happening yourself , unless you DONT want to make the fight.
Infact, he is trying every little stalling move he can to prevent a deal being reached. The fact he is saying he wants the option of deciding from "multiple promoters" is a clear sign he doesn't want to fight Carl Froch again.
Groves doesn't want the fight, he wants to pick up the vacant title.
I agree Froch has actually been classy in the past few weeks. But he doesn't want it as much as other fights and it must be pissing him off

He got stopped simple as.
How many fights have you seen a winner robbed like Michael Brodie & no immediate rematch.
Froch can give a belt away if groves demands lion shares like it looks or he could keep them as 15 percent ain't good enough for George.

whats the problems... purse bids.... bid... fight
Hearn won`t let it go to purse bids and risk losing out on the fight to another promoter who would then have control of the promotion and tv rights. The deal will either be made this week all fall apart and Hearns offer with options has been turned down and any new offer now that the IBF have ordered the fight will be without options so that is now irrelevant in this next phase of talks.
hearn can still go to bids and win
as i said previously... FW will win this... Froch will vacate, citing none payment worries
but he could get it in escroe like GG does on FW bills
He` not going to take the risk of losing the bid imo they will vacate and go the Chavez route if they don`t do the deal done before the bids saying they offered Groves good money but Groves wanted to get potentially more from a purse bid but we didn`t want to go down that road,he basicly said to Kugen if it drags on to purse bid it proberly won`t happen. He`s not going to risk losing face to someone like allegedly and Froch will just say fornicate it and lets do the Chavez fight imo

I'm sure the stonking sanction fee to be made here had no bearing on the IBF's decision.
Remember which fight the IBF want - and its not Groves v TBA.
Palooka - Groves not happy at playing second fiddle ??? Are you delusional ? Groves GOT BEAT Groves is NOT the champion.
That makes you 2nd fiddle !!!

It was Groves performance and the unsatisfactory stoppage that has made a rematch a desired bout; he doesn't have to wag his tail and accept any old thing thrown to him. He has a team around him that will be working to get the best advantage for him. I'm not delusional; Groves was mandatory before the first bout and he was stopped in a manner that the ruling body has said means a rematch is necessary - if Groves got 25% the first time why should he get less of a % the rematch or not profit from his performance in the first bout?

Palooka,
Who is this team around Groves ?
He has no Manager, he has no Promoter ?

He'll have advisers, is close to Haye and the team around him and does not need to jump into options with Hearn if it's not in his interests. Froch is Hearns fighter and Groves does right not to trust he'll get a fair deal from them. Groves has an exciting style and the Froch bout put him out there - if there are other options out there for him then why shouldn't he mull them over?
If Ryan Rhodes had boxed as well in a world title bout after being the 'away' fighter and made to be the villain in the build up and been controversially stopped with the score cards very close and the IBF had ordered a rematch then his advisers would surely have told him that he had to do the best things for him, to force the opponents hand, to grab the initiative and give as little as possible away - you'd have advised him to do something broadly similar I'd imagine.
Froch is not Groves friend and neither is Eddie; they'll want to give Groves as little as possible and keep as much as they can - it is up to Groves to get more than that and if that makes him 'nasty', 'stupid', 'arrogant' or 'ungrateful' then I'd have thought it'd be worth it.
I very much doubt that Groves is sat mooching in a flat making a guess what what to do next and I imagine that anyone with his ear has to have credentials - the days of leaving everything up to the manager to sort out is gone, at least for those at or near the top of the tree.

Groves was quick to shoot his mouth off and make lots of derogatory statement's about Sky/Hearns offer - before realising what the IBF ruling actually meant to his financial situation.
He has backed himself into a corner of his own making.
If the IBF constantly pander to a guy that their champion has already beaten, - I can see Froch just dropping the belt.
HBO has designs on Froch vs Chavez, with the winner facing the super WBA champ Ward. So technically he dont even need the IBF (although be nicer if he did have it).
Froch / Hearn are sticking with the rematch for the next few days, and if Groves continues being a difficult and precious negotiator, they will just move on. Eddie has pride and wants to provide it for the fans and for SKY but if Groves wont play ball then that's that.

He's sorted PR-wise after the first fight, so why not let it go to bids, if Hearn loses he may take Froch elsewhere, Carl drops the title, George picks it up, Carl takes on Chavez then Ward and Groves gets him next, but as title holder, so he can set the terms. Time will tell.
If they don't meet now, theres no garuantee they ever will again as it may not pan out quite like you say above, which will cause 20 threads on here debating who's fault it was
I hope they get it on now and finish this once and for all

Or maybe he wants a fair share; if he left Hearn to it he'd be paid as little it was allowed and have to box for him the future with no say in it. Hearn bats for Froch, if Groves doesn't assert himself he'd be up the creek.

Because Groves is interested in working with other promoters he doesn't want the fight? Maybe he just doesn't want to work with Eddie Hearn? If Carl Froch isn't willing to take the fight if it isn't promoted by Eddie Hearn, I'd say it's more likely that he doesn't want the fight than Groves, who is more bothered about options and his future post-Froch than who promotes the fight or exactly how much he makes.

Never ceases to amaze me how uppity people get on here when it comes to people they don't even know and how negotiations etc are going.
I couldn't care less if Froch and Groves made 50k each for any rematch and Hearns had an option on them as general errand boys for the next 15 years as long as the fight gets made!

why should GG have to have options against him, its discusting

Every promoter does that for voluntary defences it`s the business but that's irrelevant now, like I said before there will be no options for this fight now the IBF has ruled on the rematch. It`s all about what Hearn offers Groves now and if Groves takes that offer or not.If he doesn`t and wants to see the results of a purse bid then I can see him losing out on the payday because Hearn will not risk losing the purse bids and then possibly losing face to Wazza by then pulling out of the fight imo and they will vacate and move on to the Chavez fight. It would be disappointing if Hearn pulled Froch out of the purse bid but see that happening because Froch doesn`t really want the fight that much so they would then move on to Chavez if that is looking likely.I can see Groves accepting an offer from Hearn for the fight later in the week and this fight will happen.

If the fight does not happen then blame Matchroom for asking for options and Carl not wanting a return.
ps, there is no Chavez fight.
We shall see what Matchroom offers Georgie boy this week, if they make no formal offer to Groves this week then blame Matchroom. However if they make an offer(now there will be no options attached) and Groves turns it down then he only has himself to blame if Froch moves on to another fight.
