Frazier from about 1968-1975 vs Holmes from about 1978-1983 would have been a great fight. Frazier would have a slight edge, but certainly could go either way.

Holmes was great, but he was not the great Muhammad Ali.stevedoc wrote:i just can't see frazier beating holmes ,holmes would do better than ali did vs joe and i think frazier would come out of it a bloody mess after taking so many shots from holmeselmersalsa wrote:I just cannot see the great Larry Holmes beating someone as relentless as the great Joe Frazier. Smokin Joe will win this fight.

A nightful of jabs, some wicked right hands, and some timely clinching would allow Holmes to win a clear 15 round decision.
If Joe's eye begin to swell and close, a late round TKO is not out of the question.

The only incorrect answer here is one that emphatically favors one over the other. Either man could have taken this fight, but no matter who would, it should be viewed as a close contest.

Frazier would edge Holmes on a UD, or SD, possibly MD.

The fight ends at the conclusion of the 13th round with...
Larry being immediately put on a liver transplant recipient list.

I'd favor Larry to win this bout via hard fought decision. I think Frazier would be coming on like a storm when the fight ended, and looking like he'd finish Holmes if only there were a few more rounds left.

Holmes in his prime and Ali in the end of his career with the beginning of Parkinson's disease.

I’d go with Frazier. He liked fighting boxers. The styles suit him. It would be a hell of a fight.
