I only say that to wind people up; I live in Doncaster, Yorkshire on Shit Street but you made me very happy for a moment there Space Mountain, just imagining that you imagined I lived in Malibu is the happiest thing to happen to me for ages :TU:

Duce....seriously....these are not quotes. If they have ANY factual basis in fact or FACTOID they are AT BEST paraphrasing.....can you identify WHO the paraphraser is? This is purely and simply NOT Sonny's syntax.

Though it does bear the rhythm and prose like qualities of a poster on this very forum.

Are you the parphraser? If so....what is/are the source of these "impressions"? By that I mean with WHOM did these "july" events take place? Or DidJuly? By events I mean the "discussion" that was had with Sonny.

I hope I'm not being overly specific here. But when such things are quoted, it's SO nice to have something to connect it to.

What specifically is incorrect........... :??

Well....Nothing...if it's made up.

However if these are FACTS:

All I'm asking is......where did you find these quotes OR Where did you HEAR these quotes. Where ELSE (besides right here on BoxRec) can I find these quotes?

Thanks in advance for your assured cooperation in this matter.

Thunderbird Hotel

'SONNY SLAPS CLAY FOR RUNNING HIS MOUTH'

Heavyweight Champion ~ Sonny Liston trapped 'The Loudmouth from Louisville' ~ Cassius Clay
and slapped him across his cheek.

Whether it was staged or not, is to be questioned. But witnesses said that Sonny walked up behind
Cassius who was talking about the Champion very loudly. Sonny grabbed Cassius by the left shoulder
and spun him like a 'spinning wheel.

Then the Champion swatted a surprised Cassius across the face. Stunned, Cassius' eyes welled up with
water, then he asked Sonny, "What was that for."

Sonny replied, "You're getting too fresh out here. Watch your mouth."

"ODDS ON BOUT FOR LISTON - PATTERSON"

* Champion - Sonny Liston remains at {4 to 1} 'man-to-man' to retain his Championship.

* Odds are {5 to 2} that it ends in the 1st or 2nd Round.
* Odds are {4 to 1} that is goes 5-Rounds.
* Odds are {30 to 1} that it goes 10-Rounds.
* Odds are {50 to 1} that it goes 15-Rounds

* Odds are {12 to 1} that Floyd Patterson regains his Championship by a Knockout.

Sonny Liston >
'I make no predictions other than I have just as good as chance in the Ring as Floyd. I don't look
at the Odds. I'd be just as happy if I won by a 15-round Decision instead of a Knockout. It makes
no difference to me.'

'I'm guessing Floyd will be better this time and fight a little different. I figure the fight to go at least
3 Rounds, but no longer than 5.'

Are you aware that this Clay Slapping story is Bollocks? Were you snookered in to believing it by someone who gained your confidence?

Or are you just having fun with your imagination again?

Please answer the question.

Thanks in advance!!

LOL....no, no it doesn't really say that...now does it.

And of course...even if it did, I think the Fairbanks paper....far from where the event purportedly took place....just MIGHT require some qualifying.

Busted.
