What they'll both be remembering is that the last time either wad in the ring, Groves was getting punched round the ring like a rag doll. He's never got a man as hard as he hit Froch and have taken get up and fight on, and he's never been beaten up like that before. You'll see a more cautious Groves, and a more cautious Froch, then later it'll be the trenches, and Carl will win. Groves' real chance to beat Froch passed by when he didn't go for him after the knockdown, and it's not coming back.
Froch was in worse shape in the 1st and the 6th than Groves was in the 9th, his chin's cracking, he's old and slow, Groves lost the fight because when Froch started to come on stronger, as he does, he tried to trade with him and got caught, but he was winning the fight comfortably before that, if he'd have got on his bike and moved, he would have won the fight, this time he'll beat Froch, hopefully by a nice clean KO to remove any doubt, but points will do, he didn't just land a 'Sunday punch', he outboxed Froch for most of the fight and beat him up for the first 6 rounds.

If Froch counters, he wins. If he leads, he loses.
Froch isn't and never has been a counterpuncher - he's too slow, that isn't how he will win.

Froch needs to start quicker, and not get clattered by a big shot early on. Apply steady pressure and not leave Groves as much time to pick him off. Froch could also do with throwing the jab with real purpose, and following it up immediately with other shots, instead of pawing with it, leaving himself to the right hand counter.
In the last two rounds of the first fight, Carl waited for George to throw and then threw back. That's when he won the fight.

i think he means that he said a while back that the fight would happen in may when others were saying wouldn't happen, i might be completely wrong :)

I don't think Groves will be able to stop himself from standing toe-to-toe with Froch as soon as he can. I'm also inclined to think that George will be embarrassing in the build up and when he's been KO'd again.

He said it was late May and would be announced mid-February... He said that after returning from the Ringside studio, and people still chose to ignore him.

For this rematch Groves will always have that nagging feeling in his head: 'Can I finish the fight?'

Froch will have no such worries.

That's huge mentally and it'll mean Groves will inevitably start slower and take no chances early. That plays into Froch's hands and allows Carl to feel his way into the fight so he's in a position to turn it up in the later rounds and manhandle Groves to another stoppage win.

I think that was because Groves was slowing down, and Froch could see that he needed to pick his spots. Froch cannot afford to stand and pose and leave Groves room to punch early on. If Groves paces himself, he could win on points, by building a big lead early on.

Groves didn't hit Froch his hardest the first fight; he's landed bigger shots on other fighters, With a proper and settled camp Groves will knock Froch clean out. I hope Froch thinks he's taken the hardest shot and got through, he'll wake up the week after.

I can understand that columbo, it's just how I feel about it. It was Groves had the worst of it first time around - fall out with trainer, no gym, no routine, built up to be the anti hero and to have insulted the British icon so badly, With a proper settled camp he'll do much better than before. Froch will be another 6 months past his physical prime and a beating and a hard training camp after the last fight. Groves will do him.

I see what you're saying and agree with the general sentiment but I dont think Groves could hit Froch any harder than he did in that fight. On top of that Froch will be more respectful of Groves's abilities going into the rematch.

Just the worry of being knocked flat on his arse again.

How do you, like, know that it wasn't his best shot and this and that. You're properly being racist, but about his punching power and sh1t. If I was him, I'd be up in your face blaaad.

I'm pleased it looks like it will be going ahead.

Certainly going to keep out of Froch-Groves threads from here on in though, judging from what's gone on in the past and how this one is shaping up already!

Enjoy the bickering ladies

Great news.
:bag:
Groves has proven he has the power to hurt Froch coupled with the speed to catch him and Carl has shown he also has the power to hurt Groves with and engine that doesn't stop driving him forward until the final bell.
All in all a really intriguing rematch.
