He's never expressed any sort of political belief, racist views and I'm pretty sure he'd know how to spell repulsive, or at least use spell check. I don't think he's ever criticised anyone publically, even when leaving Warren, or slagged off an opponent. And while he doesn't seem to be massively into football, God Save The Queen isn't likely to be thrown about like that by a Celtic fan.
The letter is shocking generally - I'd imagine whoever wrote it was either under the age of 12 and/or pissed. I presume they were meaning Baroness Warsi as well

Which is why he should be cutting this one dead in the water ASAP. If somebody else has produced that letter using Ricky's name - which is what I think - he needs to come out and say it quick-sticks. Mud sticks.
I doubt anyone that knows anything about Ricky Burns would believe he would write or endorse a letter like that.

The issue is *which I think Aden is alluding to* is that if the mainstream media pick that up, non boxing fans who dont know anything about Burns will just see a racist letter signed by this world champion boxer. They wont know his overall character.

The whole thing is bizarre. Burns would definitely not endorse these comments and to be honest I don't believe Alex Morrison would be so stupid to commit this to paper either. Somebody in Morrisons office is now between a brick and a hard place.

One thing is for sure - the gloves are most definitely off, Fwank has hit the nuclear button there and put career-threatening stuff into the public domain. Presumably he won't complain if others do the same ? You can't spend several decades in boxing and there not be all sorts of skeletons in the cupboards.

I genuinely wonder what state of mind Fwank was in, to release that publicly. He could have done it anyway via his lawyers, but he has chosen to hit the nuclear button. Wonder why ?

The more worrying thing I found about that letter was the accusation that Morrison had contacted FW and said if he dropped his litigation claims that he wouldnt back Ricky in litigation against Frank! .... if that's true, nice loyalty.

Looks like Morrison has deleted facebook thinking the posts are gone maybe? Either way I can see Ricky having a new manager or a new career

Guess what?

I dont believe that's the real Gallway twitter account myself.

Its not even verified. Hence perhaps thoses letters going offline too.

Imagine that, reading a fake twitter and sending legal letters to the real person ?

Depends if Morrison has something to dig up on him, if he doesn't think he has enough, and lets be honest, it's going to take a lot to get rid of Fwank VVarren, then he's gone for it on Alex Morrison, he obviously feels it's worth the gamble.

I would also add that the document with Ricky Burns signature looks fake.

At worst, Burns signed it but the wording of it just is very bad fit for the real Ricky Burns.

He is a very easy going guy and pretty mild from all of the interviews I have seen of him.

No way would he knowingly put his signature with something so bitter and vitriolic as that.

Old allegedly has plenty of skeletons I imagine. Very pally with the A-Team isn't he?

Anyway, having skeletons is one thing, getting the bastards out the closet and chatting is another thing entirely! Especially with a shrewd old codger like allegedly

That's the one that seems to have been involved, at least they've got the right person, wouldn't put it past VVarren to attempt to sue a parody twitter account.

Yeah but Ricky could of signed it, trusting Morrison and not even bothered reading what it was. It's not out of the realms of possibility to be fair.

It's possible he was asked about the invitation, declined and then left the letter to Morrison's people and allowed them to use a copy of his signature, can't be hard to find one to copy and paste onto the letter, especially in Alex Morrison's office.

Lots of if's, but's and maybe's, but it seems clear to me that things have escalated massively with this. That is career and reputation destroying mud being thrown.

True. Either way I dont think Ricky signed that, knowing what it was he was signing for. Ricky doesnt strike me as that type of guy.

Sadly it seems Ricky Burns is caught up in the middle of all this, likely to be completely blameless, but he's the one that could be affected the most.

Possibly a parting of ways on the cards if it's the case. As already discussed above, Ricky Burns needs to address the situation.

Got to hand it to FW, he has really pulled a rabbit out of the hat - especially considering he is going up against a fierce pro-Islamist like Gallway.

Disclosing documents and postings, that show the very people he is defending, are the type of people he actually condemns in real life - is nothing short of a PR masterstroke.
