I don't mind Theopane, I know he rubs a few up the wrong way but he does what's best for himself - like Mackiln does. He put up a real fight v Cano and showed a lot of guts. Hamilton was a lurker and a real dark horse, he seems to be getting better and better - there's no shame for Theopane with any of the men he's lost to.

McEwan problem is that he is easy to hit, he is decent and has good pedigree, but he has had wars in America, including in sparring on regular basis. Hamilton keeps proving people wrong.

I agree generally with what you are saying, but my opinion of Theophane is that I don't rate him. I don't buy all the not getting up for fights stuff either. Even if it's true, that's his problem and very unprofessional. It's not as if he's a big name former world champion coming back down in levels.

Styles make for fights and Bendall was a good boxer with bags of amateur experience, he was competitive and didn't just lie down for anyone - losing to Bendall doesn't make Smith (or the other 29 men Bendall beat as a professional) crap.

DeGale may still go on to very good things, he's been hindered with injuries but will be hard to beat on his day.

I agree that Ashley was on the wrong end of the decision against Garcia but he was also gifted the win against Rodriguez. Both bad decisions.

Ashley was a decent fighter but he just couldn't get 'up' for domestic fights & he's not quite good enough for the top world fights.

I would not say he's better than either DeGale (Olympic Gold Medalist & only loss on a razor thin debatable decision) or Groves (you know his details).

But he is/was a tough fighter and a credit to the sport.
