Well you've enlightened us once Southpaw why not do it again? Froch only gets hype because he's a white fighter who can fight a bit right? I mean what a rarity in Britain!Southpaw Stylist wrote:Hmm.
You're "right" but it was only a mild step up. Anyway I'm glad he won, I want him to do well. How come he doesn't get the promotion ike Carl Froch ay? I've got my ideas but I don't think they'll go down well on here.

I wouldn't say Haye doesn't get promotion (ok he doesn't get his own cartoon Incredible Hulk spin off type thing but I'm sure he doesn't mind)Southpaw Stylist wrote:Hmm.

Froch did turn professional about 9 months earlier than Haye and is a bit further on in his career - belt wise.
If - make that when - Haye continues to perform like last night the praise from the BBC will be equally as big.
Trouble is the beeb don't have rights to any of Dodsons fights (highlights or otherwise) so you won't hear anything about him until fight night.
I wondered how the Beeb managed to show the Pickering v Martinez KO last night but then remembered they did purchase that Sheffield card from Frankie in 2000.

Haye is the PERFECT prospect - likeable, good looking, puncher, skilful, exciting.....jeej wrote:I also agree. Haye is a really likable chap.Kilburn wrote:Agree 100%.Lenny Albert wrote:He's more exciting, better personality, better prospect and much more likeable than Froch.
Except for one thing - chin. Yes, everyone gets hit, but do good fighters legends get badly hurt by a journeyman super middle? Or stretched out by Jim Twite?
I hope David proves me wrong........whatever happens, he is Britain's best prospect and one of its most exciting fighters.
Ok, didn't think of that.Trouble is the beeb don't have rights to any of Dodsons fights (highlights or otherwise) so you won't hear anything about him until fight night.
Maybe interview him, show him saying things like he is gonna knock Froch out in-between some Froch action? Just think there is much more they can do to plug this fight. Good to see Woodhall and Bunce say that Dodson could win it.

Williams was tailor-made for Haye, slow in both feet and hands...he couldn't get Haye into any kind of position where he could land on him. Haye could just pick and choose his punches.
Having said that I still thought the way he picked his shots, showed no respect to a fighter who was a "name" and dominated was really impressive.
For a 10th pro fight I didn't expect him to fight anyone better...can't wait for the next one.
