The Lightweights is a good division at the moment, you could match any of the top 10 domestic boxers for the British title, and get a good fight.I'd like to see Terry Flanagan really be pushed forward this year, get him matched up a bit tougher for a title of somesorts.

I wasnt knocking Errol in anyway boxing in the midlands black country and birmingham is buzzing its just without the backing of one of the two big promoters its hard to get it past that certain level.

Maley can u remember russ colley, only had five pro fights, I liked watchinghim , never saw him lose a round, then nothing, sam horton was ok to.

Russ was very talented just seemed to stop all of a sudden. He was my mate Rob Kenney's (beat Max Maxwell for a Midlands Area title) cousin.

Yh Errol works very hard, it's not easy like ste1983 said in last post, with out the tv or big promoters with the money it's hard to push it on to next level, but in saying that Errol does well with his lads and the chance he gets them.

Errol is one of the few genuine good guys I know involved in boxing, who doesn't kiss arse like some.

Another good boxer who was a good mate of mine was Dean Hickman from West Bromwich, he was more than capable of winning a British title at least but sadly he suffered a really bad run of luck with terrible personal problems and tragedys which made him lose focus and start missing training, his head wasn't in it and I couldn't blame him what he went through, he ended up taking fights at last minute, without training and ended up losing to Nigel wright I think it was, then tried to get back on track and got a win against the late Ernie Smith to help build his confidence, but he didn't seem the same, then lost to Barry Morrison, got 2 more wins and started to settle down and life seemed to start getting back on track then he totally couldn't focus after suddenly losing his mom aswell and then went on to lose in the rematch with Gary Reid then about another 4 on the bounce, lovely kid aswell he was, I remember before the run of terrible tragedys he went through, him knocking Adnan Amar flat out with a peach of a left hook at Dudley town hall in about 6th or 7th round, Amar was out cold for ages and was taken unconscious on a stretcher to hospital, one of the best ko's I ever seen live, and the great win over Gary Reid aswell who was flying high at the time, really bad shame, great kid he was.

IIRC the ringside doctor couldn't find a pulse for Admar for several moments and panic ensued. Brutal KO that was. Dean could definitely bang and he was/is a lovely kid.
