Not really bothering to score this, it's kind of moot. Mijares is outsized and past his best anyway. Strikes me as more of a showcase.
A decent name to add to SC's record.
Didn't say it wasn't.

I still think Rigo would beat SC for the most part. While being booed the whole way.

Absolutely. He's on a different level.

Santa Cruz is strong, and has a lot of stamina and volume, but he'd be well advised to stay away from Rigondeaux.

Rigondeaux has yet to show the ability to deal with somebody who's good on the inside and actually has some kind of workrate. SC would give him a good fight by my likes, although I still favor Rigo there.

He's dealt with significantly better fighters on the inside in my view, and made them look silly.

I get that Santa Cruz brings a lot of action, but I think there tends to be an overreaction for that kind of guy in my view, at the risk of getting flamed. I think he's fairly one-dimensional, he's tailor-made for Rigondeaux in my estimation.

If he beats Mijares tonight, it will be his best win along with Terrazes(sp?). I think he has a lot more to prove than Rigondeaux.

Who, Rico Ramos? A laid off Agbeko? He barely beat Ricardo Cordoba as well, he's overrated as hell off a win over Donaire who was getting just as badly outboxed by Darchinyan as he had been by Rigo.

I wouldn't call him one-dimensional either, check out his compubox stats and he's in the top 5 for defensive percentage and top 3 for offense. He rarely gets hit clean for somebody people like to misconstrue as a "slugger"

Round 9 more of the same, Santa Cruz winning comfortably, grinding away at Mijares.

And just to add to my earlier points, don't get me wrong, I think he's good. I just don't think he's on that next really top elite level. There are a lot of guys he'll beat. The few guys I think he won't, well, it's not much of an insult at that stage.

Ahh compubox. I have a lot of respect for your knowledge of weight, but I'm the wrong guy to talk about that video game way of looking at boxing to.

And yeah, Rigondeaux's wins are significantly more impressive. I'm surprised I have to say that.

Honestly I'd love to see him face Anselmo Moreno next, considering all his recent southpaw experience.

That's a good step forward I think.

He'd make him look foolish, in my estimation. His style is made for him as I alluded to earlier.

As I said, that's not meant as a knock on Santa Cruz really. I'd pick him over anyone else in that 118-122 weight neighborhood.

TR/GBP and HBO/SHO so Rigo SC will not happen but if i'd pick, i'd go with Rigo. SC sure has power but I don't think it would be enough to take out Rigo and its less likely he'll outbox Rigo

Rigo supposedly only has 1 fight left on his TR contract, so if he's so inclined the GBP door could very well be open to him fairly soon. Once he gets away from HBO he'll be better off.

It's the logical choice for Rigo though I would say that TR and GBP's 118-122 roster is not that loaded. Would be better if Rigo and SC get a couple of fights then move up and shake up 126

I don't mind fighters staying at a weight and dominating if they so choose, 126 is frought with danger for both considering neither are all that big, just look at what happened to Mares.

I hope it is just a case of Angulo starting slow. So far Canelo is destroying Angulo. Angulo looks slow, hesitant, and not throwing hard shots.

I expected Canelo to have the speed advantage but so far he has the power advantage as well.

ANgulo taking his power like it's nothing, Angulo is barely getting warmed up out of his usual early-round zombie state

Angulo's eye will be shut soon if this keeps up. I think Canelo hurt him in that round. Not going 12 rounds unless Canelo gets tired and slows down. Angulo is just too slow with no defense. Hopefully he does wake up before it is too late.
