Probably not, but I thought the idea was to have PPV as an option for non subscribers. Haye-Chisora, Floyd fights, Khan and Fury would have brought a good few more in, if only for the night.

No doubt, I meant more the fact that they won't turn a profit solely on the monthly paying subscribers.

Everyone on here already knew about allegedly, publicity isn't any good when no one actually buys the PPV, for some it may put them off allegedly altogether.

Free publicity highlighting the value of a service against a believable alternative pricing structure seems worth the effort of issuing a press release.

I think almost everyone knew that if it was going to be shown in the UK, it would be on allegedly, we didn't know it was on PPV, but they aren't going to be getting a penny out of anyone at £27.50 a head, so it hasn't really got them anywhere financially.

Refer to the opening post. It says the PPVs will be on Sky Channel 490. That's new, right?

It's just access to their HD channel for the duration of the broadcast.

What I find strange is B0xnati0n haven't really done anything to highlight this weeks show is PPV. No press release, nothing on Twitter, nothing on Facebook and no news published on their website. I only found out by accident when looking at their up coming fight schedule and clicking on "Full Match Microsite" for Garcia Vs. Herrera. Even then I had to click a few more links to realise the show can be bought on a PPV basis.

I've asked on Twitter for more info yesterday but got blanked. It's all rather odd, almost like they are trying to slip this under the radar undetected. When someone asked on Twitter why the channel was asking for a PIN B0xnati0n told them it was the new way to record the channel.

Yes, the channel has moved. If your on the B0xnati0n mailing list, they e-mailed everyone on Friday morning to confirm the HD channel would be moving.

From what you say this looks like a trial of PPV.

Looked on their website, they're basically launching one off PPV's, live, in HD via the Sky platform at that price, and at the same time are trying to encourage people to just subscribe at £10 a month.

So its not a mistake, it is a launch of a one-off PPV event service, its probably an experiment to dip their toes in the water and see how many rich or drunk suckers want to buy a single show, just by using their sky remote and not having to actually sign up. I can understand that, but why the prohibitive price ?!

Maybe it's just a soft launch to test the service and make sure their systems work correctly. Maybe they're hoping such a high price will deter most potential customers meaning they don't have to process much demand in their first attempt at PPV. Sounds strange I know. Alternatively maybe Golden Boy set the PPV price. I remember about 2 years ago when Primetime got the rights to one of Manny Pacquiaos fights. They where getting mega grief from boxing fans asking how they could charge £14.99 for a single fight when B0xnati0n charge £10.00 for a full months subscription. Primetime posted on either Facebook or Twitter that they had no control over the PPV price, it was set by Top Rank.

I can see the logic behind it. Some people may not want the hassle of subscribing just to watch a one off show hence doing the PPV. Admittedly its not the most glamorous show to launch the PPV service on!

My thoughts are that if you want to watch the show then just subscribe. Its still no minimum term so you could realistically cancel as soon as you wanted.

The main thing is that the subscribers aren't affected. If they were being charged to watch specific shows on top of the £10 a month then that would be wrong.

Chad is highly likely to be right. It's obvious he's somehow connected to the tv industry, nobody could know some of the stuff he comes out with as a casual observer.

B0xnati0n is not going up in price on the Virgin Media platform. From the 1st April the subscription goes up to £12.00 for SKY customers however the price will stay at £10.00 for those who subscribe via Virgin Media. Talks between the channel and Virgin Media are still ongoing in regards to B0xnati0n HD launching. It's not a case of if, it's a case of when...... which should be soon.

B0xnati0n also confirmed today that "We’ll never ask channel subscribers to pay-per-view. This new facility is for non-subscribers only." They're playing their cards close to their chest in regards to what their PPV plans are going forward.
