Why shouldnt it be then? So going from boxing the likes of Wladimir to Lewison who doesnt have the biggest profile over here, let alone in the states, isnt a big drop?

I didn't say it wasn't a big drop. I said it shouldn't be depressing.
Top fighters often take on lesser opponents inbetween big fights. I don't see anything depressing about him fighting Lewison at all.

Well if it's just an inbetween fight then yeah you cant complain. I dont know if it will be though as he doesnt have a big promoter behind him anymore.

As I said I DID NOT PULL THE FIGHT Warren did. They then offered the fight with Chambers instead. The McDermott-Lewison fight was put out to purse bids by the board again so I was intending to bid to get the right to stage the fight. Whilst this was going on something happened and I decided to release Ian from his contract.
To clarify all that happened was that Warren decided he no longer wanted to promote the fight anymore and wanted Lewison to fight Chambers instead.

Haha. No Ian is always respectful in that way. Ian felt I had done a bad job with guiding his career in 15 months from a loss to a journeyman to a southern Area Champ an English title which is a virtual British title eliminator. I was offended and I just told him as he felt that way I no longer wanted to work with him. I could have made him sit his contract out for 2 years and taken money but I am a man of principal and I dont behave like that.

He loves the sport and is really committed. I believe he will be a major player in years to come. Just thought I would say what happened with Ian to stop some of the nonsense being said. Lets see if someone does a better job ongoing!

Yeah I saw his interview on Ifilm london. He came across as a very mature man who's still in his teens! Also seemed very modest about how things were going and so on. You've clearly done a good job raising him mate
