True Dean, the same with St Patrick's day for the Irish, I was brought up in your area, it was not always like that, more muslims have moved into the area over the last 20 years and agree you should always remember where your family originates from, but in sport you should represent the country where you are born and bred, whilst showing your origin and religion. that makes up for who you are, Naseem Hamed did, he promoted british boxing, his Yemeni origin, his religion and even Sheffield where he was born and bred, Frankie has done the same thing, he won the world Amatuer title for England, has an Irish title in the pros, This country is multi cultural, but we are also privileged to be born and bred here.

It's up to the individual. Frankie has cleared this up on here before. He has had no contact with his father so considers himself neither Irish or a traveller. The Irish title was a thing of convenience. Macklin, on the other hand, considers himself as an Irishman brought up in Brum.
