i'm definitely resisting on this one

the 2 fights r mismatches anyway. especially de la hoya v sperm

i paid for klitschko v sanders but that was an important fight and a good fight not these 2.

this should never be ppv :x hopkins v de la hoya i'd be prepared to pay for it but not for this.

I didn't get the Klit/Saunders PPV, 1st time I never got a PPV, but I may weaken on this one if nothing else is happening on that weekend. Time will tell.

I aint paying for this.

I usually fall asleep, and miss all the undercard action anyhow, and watching one of the repeated shows just aint the same, especially when you are paying for it.

Watching it free on ringside a few days later is more than acceptable for me :)

james, you can get a sports package that only gives the sport channels and maybe sky 1 for about 15 quid a month.

James, how do you go about getting the tickets? Did you pick them up over there, or did you get them sent to you before you left? If DLH-Hopkins is on for september I plan on going over and staying in the cheapest cockroach infested shithole I can find, however I have no clue how to book tickets. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have stayed at the MGM for fights before.

The seating capacity is about 10 thousand and there really is no bad seat in the house.

Make sure you go to the weigh-in!!!!!! It is free and open to the public. Don't miss it, it is almost as exciting as the fight itself and get there early.

There is nothing special about the MGM grand hotel. However, I would stay there because you will constantly be running into tons of pro boxers there including De La Hoya and Hopkins. You are going to be amazed at who you will run into having breakfast in the main area at MGM.

If you want to go for the fight and enjoy the whole experience then you really should stay at the MGM. It will well worth the money spent versus trying to find a cheaper hotel.

Always keep a camera on you because you'll constantly be running into stars, especially fight day.

Thanks for your help everyone, i am thinking of going to watch the Hopkins-DLH bill (providing there are no upsets en route) on 18th September. I was tempted after seeing an advert in the back of BM for fight trips....it says Five Days (Four Nights) from £645...£645 Tropicana - £799 Mandalay Bay Or MGM Grand....Fight tickets TBA....register now!! And so i thought HMMMM

Maybe i might go.

De la Hoya v Hopkins will sell out in minutes (other than the 1000 buck tickets) - as did de la Hoya v Moseley. If you want to go and not pay extra for the tickets just make sure you are online on http://www.ticketmaster.com the second tix come out - you will then be able to get the 300 dollar tickets (still a lot of money).

I am fortunate enough to be financially solvent but I do get mildly miffed that I had to pay 300 greenbacks to see de la Hoya - Moseley (and 200 dollars for the upcoming card) when I got to see the undisputed middleweight and welterweight titles in Atlan tic City only 3 months later for 50 dollars (that said, the second trip cost me a fortune in "girlfriend permission presents").

Steve - aplogies to everyone else if this is becoming the Las Vegas travel forum. Those sort of prices are not great value - as Real Deal said, people like STA and Trailfinders will get you to Vegas for about 350, Virgin the only people who fly direct are about 500 and you will pick up a decent hotel cheaply. Trop is good "old school Vegas", I tend to stay off-strip at the Hard Rock
