Terry had a tough fight last sat 10 rounds against nick blackwell. From wat I here and hav seen via tez fb it was a very hard fight for terry. Prob best decision for him to pull out. Imo with the right notice terry cud defo beat carslaw wud b a good fight tho

Can't blame him for pulling out if he went 10 rounds only two weeks before but it's a shame for the card. A good fight I would've said maybe 60-40 in in favour of Carslaw but Blackwell will probably be a 60-54 and not put up much of a challenge. Must be difficult putting on a show if half your boxers pull out the week before but it's still a pretty decent looking card I'd say.

DISGRACE, is the only word to describe Andrew Wright the refere tonight. The stoppage was disgusting. You can see why fans are loosing Interest in boxing when referees do what he did tonight,maybe he wanted home early (lol)

Come on that's not true!! Towell showed a great chin as Pagan threw everything but the kitchen sink at him. Pagan took a shot earlier in that last round and his legs went and was all over the place. Towell then hit him with 8 or 9 clean punches. The ref had no choice Pagan could of got seriously hurt very good stoppage in my eyes.. Need to look at a fighter closely and this would of ended bad.. What a fight though deffo fight of the night

It seems the press, Pagan's fans & team on one side of the ring all thought it was a bad stoppage. Towell's fans, the officials & promoters on the other side seem to think it was ok. I thought it was poor at the time but will wait to see how it looks on the DVD.

A great night overall though and great for Scottish boxing to see two tremendous talents aged 22 & 20 look so impressive. A very nice domestic clash started it off. Another novice looked very good against a tough opponent. A Scottish champion scored a fantastic ko & two Scots got great workouts ahead of British title eliminators.

I didnt find it a bad stoppage but it was very strange, it was like a gap between the fighters, pagan fell back on the ropes, towell laid off and I think that forced the referee to stop it when he didnt want to. Credit to both of them they were superb but Mikey Towell. Wow, His chin is granite how he took some of them shots bites down on his gumshield and smashed pagans body. Fight of the night!

First of all let me say the stoppage of Rhys Pagan was first class and just in time before the unfortunate lad was knocked out completely.

I'm always reluctant to make predictions on young fighters but Towell could go all the way. He's the shot in the arm Scottish boxing needs at the moment. If I had the money and a licence I'd be driving to Dundee on Monday morning to try to persuade whoever manages/promotes him to cancel their contract and transfer it to me.

I'd be prepared to take the risk now. You don't need to coach this lad at all, just put the gloves on him and let him go. He's the most exciting young fighter I've seen in Scotland in the last 40 years. Somebody said at ringside last night that if he could punch he'd be a world champion in the making. I know what they mean. Sometimes he was landing flush on Pagan with little effect, but he did get there in the end. While thrashing away he needs to make sure he tries to land with the knuckle part of the glove more often. He calls himself IRON MIKE, but do we not think he looks physically more like Duran, and if he keeps this up who knows. But please, don't send this guy to some well known coach - it'll ruin him. Just get the rough edges ironed out. People have to see the DVD of this fight, and his last one!!

That is a big prediction, i thought the stoppage was a tad early and so did some of the press guys who were in attendance.

Towell is entertaining no denying that, i do wonder how he will fair boxing over ten -twelve rounds as i would like to see if he can keep the pace up over the 12 rounds as i think he might burn out ... be intresting to see how he develops

on the rest of the show i enjoyed it

Mikey is a terrific fighter and really exciting, I'm from dundee and very biased towards the fighters but he needs to be developed. Thing is you can't fight like that for 12 rounds , he needs to know when to relax and sit down on his shots, he is really slapping to the body and that's why it sounds so aggressive. If he turns his glove I reckon he'll stop them, where he swung and almost flew put the ring, I understand why you would only wanna polish him but he needs to learn to jab also and when to put it on someone. We have a very good amateur club In lochee boys club who are doing a fantastic job at the moment dundee boxing is dping very week.

How did ronnie look against mooney.

Emm ronnie surprised me to be honest, I thought he would go out and outbox him and be sharp but chose to stand in centre of the ring and trade with him, landed any shot he wanted and mooney saved by bell in 5th as ronnie was over him like a rash. Ronnie took a few right hands but they had no effect at all . Not the best Iv seen him fight and he was sloppy but it was a professional enough display,

Btw congratulations to saltire promotions, all the talk of fights they guys put on a great show, great set up and great fights!! Saltire and granite promotions along with prospect are doing great for small hall shows in Scotland and deserve credit.

Good workout for ronnie against a game opponent,won convincingly hopefully theres no aftereffects with his hands so he can focus 100% on his British title eliminator in june,great night of boxing,good times for the lochee/dundee area
