I can't spilt them. I can just as easily see Crolla out boxing Murray and taking him apart in the second half, or Murray's aggression wearing down Crolla and pounding him to defeat for a late stoppage.

Crolla should not be fighting at Lightweight.

I fancy Crolla UD very competative for the early and middle rounds with Crolla coming on strong/ Murray fading in the late rounds

Decent fight this, I still can't decide.
I'm going to go with Crolla on points after some early-mid rounds pressure/scares.

Think Murray will be to strong for him, can't wait though

Shot and rusty Murray, beaten by an overrated Mitchell at his PEAK, vs Crolla who is on top of his game. Can't see this fight being close. Crolla will bust him up and stop him between 8 and 10.

Mitchell is a better fighter than Crolla though.

And can punch as well, Crolla doesn't have the power to hold Murray off and he isn't good enough to stay on the move for 12 rounds and pick him off. Murray has made a career of beating up fighters like Crolla and I can't see that changing tomorrow.
Gallagher never seemed keen on the fight and now he's claiming that Anthony will win because Murray is training to beat him and not Crolla. He also thinks Crolla proved he can hit against Michael Brodie, Andy Morris, John Watson and Derry Mathews. Brodie was 35, 6 years past his best and had fought once in 4 years prior to the fight. Morris was years past his best, like Brodie hasn't fought since and was stopped twice by John Simpson, who had no answer to Murray a couple of months ago, 3-4 years before he fought Crolla. Watson was a good win, but he'd never done anything at title level and his only notable win was against Gethin, who was coming off a stoppage defeat and lost his next fight to a journeyman a couple of months later. As for proving his power against Derry, he was stopped in the first fight and could only manage a draw in the second, no disrespect to Derry, but if you have ambitions of mixing it at world level, you should be beating him comfortably.
The entire column is more deluded than Fwank's average offering -

I think Murray is going to stop Anthony and stop him early. 3rd round knockout.

Also if you look at there best wins Murray has a lot more impressive resume, I know styles make fights but if John is somewhere near his best he wins this hands down for me.
Good luck to both and let the best man win.
Great point

Can't split them either....which is usually the sign of a good fight.
For Murray; way better top-level experience, edge in size/strength and a remorseless pressure style that might put Anthony right under the gun.
For Crolla; younger, fresher man. More active recently and on a good run of results. Boxes and moves well, but has the resilience and strength to meet fire with fire when needed.
I think that John needs a good start, getting right at Anthony's body and slowing him down and not allowing him to establish a rhythm. If he can do that then he's got every chance.
British lightweight division is cooking on gas right now.

They both look in fantastic condition, Crolla looks to have a broad back, I was surprised. They both look confident and this will be a blinder of a fight I'm sure.

There's only 2 years between them though. Doubt it would make much of a difference.

Murray did take a pasting off Rios, but Crolla has had some hard fights of his own and there's little difference in the number of fights they've both had. It could be argued that with the layoff Murray is actually the fresher of the two, although he may be a bit rusty and there have been suggestions he didn't look after his body very well during that time, although if that was true, I don't think he'd be fighting at lightweight anymore, he was always tight at the weight to start with.

I watched the Simpson fight again today. John got hit with more than he should of to be honest but he's never been the slickest fighter lol. He needs to be all over Crolla. Dont give him any time to breathe at all.

Not sure with all the mileage on Johns clock he will be fresh down the stretch so for me he needs to break down Crolla in the early rounds. If Crolla can stay away & get in a rythym then the fight is there for him to win.
Not been this up for a fight in ages!

Murray will cut Crolla in half with a body shot.

Crolla is really a SFW, he moved up cos there was an opportunity and has stayed there since, I can see Murray ending this within 6 and Crolla moving down to SFW afterwards

This is why Hearn made Gallagher take the fight, the card was looking like a damp squib before it

I thought that at the time, but he didn't need to get out of the way because the punches had no effect. I don't think Crolla hits harder than Simpson, but he is a better boxer, which is his best chance to win the fight. I think Murray will get through this one, but if his defence doesn't improve, he's got no chance against the likes of Burns and Mitchell, they're too good and hit too hard for him to spend the whole fight walking forward in straight lines.
