I've never heard many people cheering him and I doubt anyone would buy a ticket from him if they were going to watch him lose. Even if he doesn't sell tickets, he'll always get opportunities because he's a good name for TV.columbo wrote:How many tickets does he sell then?Broomhall wrote:I wonder if you had this topic on a forum when Cassius Clay was 14-0 and what sort of things people would be saying about him? but he put bums on seats, and so does the boy Eubank (even if some of that is still is dads presence)
Always helps to have a villain either in a pantomime or a boxing promotion.
Personally as entertaining as he is, and as surprised as I have been by his progress after a limited amateur carere and seeing his early fights, I cannot see him going beyond a shot at the British title.
Do you like Chris Eubank Jr?

I enjoy watching him fight, he throws plenty of leather, and I think he'll make European champ, maybe more. He comes across as a little arrogant, but not the worst, and I think he'll back his talk. I can imagine following a boxer on Twitter, and what I've read of Fury's tweets confirms it. He's alright, and I hope he does well.

I like him and his Dad.

Ambivalent, although I am bored of disproportionate amount of press/thread about him, it's certainly not in line with his career/performances so far.

I dont think its so much an issue of him selling tickets like say the boy Buglioni does, but more about the interest his name generates. I think TV loves the Eubank name. I know people where I work who have gone to promotions that he has been on because he has been on the posters. I have been into this game for 40 odd years and I have to admit that if he where on a promotion near me I would go along to watch. This game often isnt all about ability, its about personalities, especially to the casual fan, and personalities we dislike as a general public (mayweather, hopkins, eubank, ali) often sell the most tickets.
I think he will have a brief career, although he has already surpised me with a couple of his wins, and the main reason for that I think is he lacks power-and he does come over as a bit of an arrogant guy-but so did his dad.
I think Degale has similar public perception issues, but he doesnt have a famous Dad. David Haye,( and bless him the boy Fury is desperately trying to be a bad boy,) was/is similar but he is a heavyweight and they are always rightly or wrongly seen differently.

I like him and his style but I don't understand why everybody say's he fights in middlweight (160 lbs), when actually he had never reach the 160 limit, he's always about 163-164.

Most fighters fight above the weight so they don't put extra stress on their bodyarmand.pl wrote:I like him and his style but I don't understand why everybody say's he fights in middlweight (160 lbs), when actually he had never reach the 160 limit, he's always about 163-164.
