100% correct. No way will Hearn put Brook in with Porter, especially after last night.

Let's see how many more final eliminators we get instead...

It will be a dangerous for Brook against Porter now, Porter is on a roll,he looks powerful and awkward, will Hearn go a different route once again, no body has done that to Malinaggi.

That's because he is ultra boring. Kugan done a 20 min interview with him not long back and I fell asleep after about 10 seconds

He needs to become loud and cocky. Fight on a stateside undercard, go mental and all out Floyd or something. Become more interesting

What do the Sheffield boys think?

Porter would probably prefer not to fight brook as it's not exaxtly a big name fight for him. I can't see after last nights performances how brook beats him though so doubt porter will be worried about him.

Yep it'll be the same old story - the Sheffield boys will big up Brook & say we haven't seen the best of him yet (quite right I think, only right to support your local fighter), but most others are now reluctant to show faith in Brook until he's been in with a genuine world level opponent.

Hopefully we can just cut out all the BS & see Brook in with a top fighter asap so we can finally decide properly for ourselves.

Quite a shock to see Paulie worked over lying under the ropes holding his head in pain.

Reading a similar thread elsewhere and it was remarked he was a knockout merchant in the amateurs and boasted a record of something like 270-15 or something.

Yet casuals think he was a guy who was simply Manny's spar and nothing more.

There is more to this guy's game and I think he showed us that last night.

He boxed at 165 lbs as an amateur. Someone said that he knocked out somebody who was/is a light heavyweight on his debut.

TBF his record was good but not spectacular enough to suggest he was capable of his last two performances. He got a split with Julio Diaz prior to Amir Khan and then fought him again to points.
When I'd seen him previously he didn't really stand out as one to watch then he roughed up Alexander and now he's leathered Paulie! :bag: :bag: :bag:

Na I agree. He's upped his game for sure. Look at the weight he came in at on his debut though and the weight of his opponent http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=bo ... _id=472133

To play the Devils Advocate.....

As impressive as Shawn has looked in his last two bouts lets not get carried away over last nights result. It was a good one but doesn't necessarily mean he's going to blow through Kell.

Porter fought at the middleweight limit as an amateur & also fought above light middle on 11 occasions as a pro. Malignaggi has fought the majority of his career at light welter. Porter fought exactly the right kind of fight against a smaller, older, light punching opponent. Admittedly Paulie has shown durability in the past but he was up against a younger, stronger champion.

Brook is a big welter himself with (it appears so far) decent whiskers and solid power. Thinking that Shawn will blow through him in the same manner as he did Malignaggi is a tad naive. I doubt he'd even TRY to fight like that, possibly reverting to the steady pressure of the Alexander fight.

Steady against Alexander?! He was pretty damn aggressive in that fight.

Shouldn't the question be the other way around?

Brook is the one that doesn't seem interested

Malignaggi 33, lot of miles on the clock, stoppage losses to Amir Khan, Ricky Hatton when he was in his prime. I dont think this makes Porter into Sonny Liston. Worn out old pro loses to up and coming young fighter. History of boxing.

What about Mayweather and Pacquaio in terms of age and miles on the clock?

He was in line porter & took his chance while brook as fizzled out like a berroca

Paulie outpointed Judah easily , run Broner to the wire (won on peoples cards ) and done Cano. He wasn't showing real signs of wear.
It was a very exciting performance.
