So do you lot want to go back to the days when all am and pro guys would lose their licenses for even training in the same gym? Audley took pros to Sydney to help him, paid for by England, Khan did also to Athens. Should we strip them? Is it really over a few hundred pounds a week? They pay sports phycologists etc more at Sheffield yet in Froch they have the perfect inspiration and role model on hand. Ask Anthony Fowler how much his sparring has helped... I think Team Gb are getting the better deal, by far.

It's not over a few hundred pounds a week, it's about favouritism and preferment. I'd not like to see things go to how they were but this situation does not look above board, maybe it does to those prospering but not to those on the outside.

Well they're certainly not keeping it secret. Of course it's above board.

If the government were to fund a brand new training ground for a football club, there would be outrage and other clubs would rightly be up in arms over it. What's the difference between that and Froch training and using the facilities in Sheffield for free?

There's lots of things in the public domain that are not above board. If it's fighters from one promotional outfit enjoying privileged access to taxpayer funded facilities and resources and others are not allowed the same then it's not above board.

Suprised to see loftus win at 69 tbh he must have come on in last 18 month

James Branch Jr did very well at only 18 to get to the final and gave a good account of himself against Baister.

Also, surprised at 69.

Edwards beating Bateson surprised me a little given their performances building up to the final.

Sam Maxwell was pure class as always.

Big Joe Joyce cementing himself fully as number one.

And Fowler will be hard to beat at 75 by anyone in the world.

Yeah but the Olympic stadium always had legacy plans built in and it was an open tender process. Very different to situation in Sheffield.

I haven't seen it yet but heard Bateson was unlucky. From Yorkshire lads, admittedly.

Burmantofts are flying at the min plus one of main men Phil sellars been made up on GB coaching staff. Like a lot of clubs who do well, silly in Liverpool and goin back repton in London the better a club gets then it attracts good but not homegrown boxers thru their doors. I want west ham to get in that stadium as soon as - I'm fed up with prince regent lane being clogged up with traffic on a Saturday afternoon when I wanna get over to ASDA

More or less, it would have looked very bad on the Olympic Legacy, which was why we won the games, because of the potential to use them to regenerate the East End, for the 80,000 seater stadium at the centre of it all to stand empty for most of the year. Because of that it went out to bids, West Ham won and the funding is split between the club, Newham council and the Olympic legacy programme.

I actually think it could well ruin them in the short-mid term so I'm not against the move.

The Olympic Legacy is a complete nonsense though. The original legacy was a 25,000 capacity dedicated athletics stadium. "Legacy" was a scaremongering word. The legacy don't exist. 2012 has been and gone, why does it need this so called legacy? Plenty of other olympic stadiums in the past have been changed completely for other uses.

The "regeneration" ( its still a shithole ) has happened. The casino is good fun.

Looking at the plans it looks like the stadium is going to be a mishmash of everything and awful for football.

I'm just delighted we didn't end up there! Although I suspect we were willingly used as a pawn in the game to ensure West Ham didnt get a free run at it, making all sort of demands etc

Its been amusing watching the likes of Karen Brady ( her leg up in business? David Sullivans fornicate piece ) and Sullivan himself ( a convicted pimp who has been inside for it ) talking about things like 'legacy' and being 'trusted with the Queens olympic site'

The whole thing should have been sorted out before a footing was dug. Then a proper stadium fit for multi-use and a genuine sporting legacy could have been built from the off.
