I've been after Nelson's book for a year or 2. Someone told me Poundland of all people got in on it and I have been in at least 3 Poundlands specifically to try and get my hands on it. They have a fair few books but not found it yet. I guess I shouldn't be so tight! I'd have no problem paying full price if it meant Johnny gets more money. It's meant to be a very good book.

It's on Amazon etc mate. Not expensive.

£6.39 and some cheaper used ones.

Yes, thank you mate - I am not averse to an Amazon book either, I have had several off there myself, including Herbie Hide's. I first read the reviews of Johnny's book a couple of years ago just haven't got round to it but I will. But Poundland, ONE QUID? You can't beat that. Normally they're full of Katie Price type books. I guess it just means they took a punt on a load of Johnny Nelson books, rather than the book didn't do well.

The kidnap situation was bizarre, I got the impression from reading his account that there was some stuff he couldn't cover. It seemed like he explained the story as best he can. The efforts by the authorities to tackle the plot must have run into six digits in terms of cost.

His description of how he joined the "tally-ho chaps" horse riding/foxing hunting brigade in the south yorks countryside was laugh out loud funny

I was intrigued at Johnny's account of the time a very young Naz Hamed sparred Adam Fogerty and there was a bit of a do between them. I know Adam and asked him about it, he view was that the story has been embellished, to say the least, for the book !

I got nelsons book on the kindle. It is a refreshingly good book. Not many boxers admit to their true feelings and fears. Johnny was really honest in it.

Well he's got a story to dine out on for the rest of his life, over and above the boxing achievements. If you were going to go to the trouble of kidnapping someone, presumably you're thinking of the ransom, and I struggle to see how the obvious candidate would be Johnny Nelson. No disrespect to him, but if it was me I would kidnap somebody unrecognisable and worth millions, who is preferably old, frail and unable to stand up for themselves.

It's ok, polecat has been writing insane posts for quite a while. He thinks Carl Thompson would beat Ezzard Charles and Rocky Marciano

The only controversial idea I had was Johnny Nelson outpointing Rocky Marciano. I don't particularly want to get into that again. It's just a personal opinion. I doubt would find many other whacky ideas I've come up with on other topics.
