He could have signed AFTER the Froch fight if he was as confident of victory as he has constantly made out. If he was so absolutely convinced he would have won then no way would have signed right this very moment. It says a lot about Groves mindset, that he is looking to secure something in the event of a crushing loss.

i think some of you guys are either under estimating the power of the european boxing scene, or over estimating the the british one.

Boxing in Germany is massive, the sponsorship is huge, they fill out football stadiums regularly, and mainly because the boxing is on terrestrial tv. So think of UTV in the late 80's early 90's. Only with one of the worlds biggest economies watching it.

Then there's the obvious reasons with Saurland having Kessler, Abraham, Stieglitz.

If you actually sit back and look at it. He'd be stupid NOT to sign with them.

I for one hope he smashed Froch next week now. Bursts Eddie Hearns smug bubble and runs off with the titles over to Germany or Denmark. Leaving James Degale to cry like a little girl again

I disagree. I think Groves is anticipating a win over Froch and then being able to go straight into money spinning fights with Kessler and Abraham etc. Wise move.

Kalle Sauerland hates Froch

Seems a positive move by Groves.The Germans have been good at moving their boxers into title shots and defences. Hope he has read the contract though as Helenius didnt seem to happy with how things turned out. I wonder if they will have Groves fighting here or in Germany?

Not sure about the wisdom of negotiating something before the biggest fight of your life, maybe focussing on Froch would be better?

Nisse Sauerland has recently got a licence with the Board. They will be promoting Price in Liverpool in the autumn and Groves in the UK. If Groves's next three fights after beating Froch (presuming he does) were DeGale, Abraham, Kessler, he would not only potentially hold three belts, but he would be very rich.

Groves beats froch, takes Arthur WBO strap, defends against degale, then Kessler then ward for all the baubles and all on allegedly !

You wouldn't need to go that far. The first fight was extremely close, Groves & Booth knew at the time there was going to be a rematch. There is a long gap between the first and second fight and still those two still can't stand each other. Also, DeGale being the Olympic Gold medallist aswell. Sky don't have to do that much with it.

Pay de gale step aside money why would he do that, I'd have thought he's not contractually obliged to fight de gale?

So dose that mean Groves fights will be on allegedly after his next fight.

Bad move for me. It will only make it harder for me to watch his fights.
