Ball boy was always a favourite. His team were seriously dung but always came agood.

You had the odd celebrity appearance back in the day mainly in the annual. I suppose they use them now to pander to the youngsters.

I was at that fight, I thought Eastman deserved it.
I don't really remember either way. It was the same night as Hatton vs Floyd, so was just watching some early boxing before the main event. I have a feeling there was some other boxing on Sky Sports earlier in the evening too, but I can't remember what it was. I may have made that up.

yeah, the old storylines were better - dennis always getting whacked with his dads slipper. the bash street kids always coming unstuck at the end and getting whacked with the schoolmasters slipper. Minnie the minx hiding her dads slipper but he ends up finding it and Minnie getting whacked with it. biffo the bear - never getting whacked with a slipper. a red indian kid doing something um terrible and getting whacked with um slipper. roger the dodger and winker Watson making daft plans and ending up both getting whacked with a size ten slipper. I loved them :TU:

viz is good too
I liked the idea it was somewhat antiquated. Teachers went round wearing mortar bards. And they hit kids with the cane, which would've been illegal when I was reading it. The fact that Dennis had a catapult and pea shooters, which were somewhat old fashioned as children's toys.

Careful.

You're showing your age.

Eastman is fighting this coming Wednesday. He's fighting a gentleman named Tsetsi Davis (who has an 11-3) in Kingston, Jamaica. Fight is at welterweight, and it is the semi-final of the Jamaican version of The Contender.

Contender semi finals go downtown Kingston

Something else I noticed when checking his record, this year marked Eastman's twentieth as a professional. His pro début having taken place on March 6, 1994.

Also, this internet thing is pretty good.

If you want to watch the current season of the Wray & Nephew Contender, featuring none other than Howard Eastman, you can do so at the link below.

Amazing both are still around.
