More specifically, by punching his opponent exactly when and how he says he will in the build up to the fight

What will it mean for his career?

A lot of people are acting like Froch had zero chance of winning had it not been stopped, and that Groves is some kind of superman who only had a loss due to some fluke.

If he loses this fight, will this myth be exposed? Will people assume the first performance by Groves was the fluke, rather than the Froch win? Will he be able to get more big fights like this? Will he be still be able to use his name to fight journeymen and have Uncle Eddie pretend their real fights to make money?

Or will one result not have too much bearing on Groves' new found fame?

I imagine he'll be in with Arthur Abraham after a confidence fight.

Largely down to his promoter as to what fights they make.

I'd imagine he'll be on some undercards in Germany.

Yeah, that was a somewhat surprising promotional change, wasn't it?

Not necessarily.

He's changed promoters quite a bit since Hayemaker so he's kinda running low on options really.

I'd imagine it'll be GBP next, should he maintain his profile.

I think history shows any fighter can overcome any loss-as a direct example look at Paul Smith-blown out by Groves could now be fighting for a world title. For what its worth, I think if you turned down the commentary on the last fight it gets a lost closer and I only had Groves a couple of points or so up at the end. Froch would have won the round the fight was stopped in, so on my card Groves one point up and exhausted going into the tenth.

Whatever happens Groves can either go onto bigger things if he wins or rebuild his career if he loses as he is still young. There is a big fight with Degale out there and a few other options.

Now you mention it, I noticed at the time that the after the knock-down the commentators were spunking themselves every time Groves landed, and blindly ignoring all of Froch's work. I wasn't scoring the fight myself, so can't tell you what happened other than I noticed it a bit through my beer stained vision.

That's not to say Groves wasn't winning, or the stoppage was justified. It just seems that the commentators like to decide who they want to win pre-fight, and then commentate on it appropriately.

Groves is an entertaining fighter when the bell rings, so any losing result , as long as it's not a complete demotion loss, would see him afforded great opportunities in the future.

Yep, spot on G. He can also shift a few tickets so people will happily fight him, if Carl doesn't ruin him (which I don't think will happen).

Undefeated streaks and losses affecting a fighters popularity are a purely British thing.

It won't make the first bit of difference as Groves style is entertaining and if he does lose, which I don't predict, his knockdown of Froch highlight will see him in big fights for years!

Didn't do Khan any harm after his spectacular losses!

Is it today or tomorrow? Really excited about this fight.

Also, I have to give huge props to Froch. In 2013 he was involved in the two best fights of the year against Kessler and then Groves, and now he is boxing Groves again!!
