I think there is on this matter some confusion at times with regards to attendence and 'paying' attendence.

I've always known it as:

1. Tony Zale vs Billy Pryor: 135,132
2. Julio Cesar Chavez vs Greg Haugen: 132,274
3. Gene Tunney vs Jack Dempsey I: 120,557

seems the answer i had (lopez v kotey) was wrong , sorry guys.
the highest attendance at any fight is the one between tony zale and billy prior at 135,132 but as kojoe hinted this was a non paying audience.
it was a free show organised by the fraternal order of eagles at juneau park, milwaukee (18/08/41)
i will try another, cant let my career as a quizmaster end on that farce....again sorry guys..........damn book

the longest unbeaten run (including no contests) is recognised as 97 can you name the fighter who acheived this run.

I must confess i've never seen this fight so i looked it up on google, and the following quote from boxeopro.com (translated by google) is what i found.

"The fight comes marked by the duro crossing from declarations between both púgiles, declared Haugen to that single Chávez has been moderate with taxi drivers of Tijuana and single Meldrick Taylor to be its only victory of merito."

So there's your answer. If someone had said that to me i'd have reacted the same way as Julio and handed out a real beating.

Anyway, the thing about beating the cabbies is pretty funny, but Haugen had a much funnier insult for Vinny Pazienza before one of the bouts in their epic trilogy. Can anybody come up with that one? ;)

Yes he said Chavez had only ever beaten a bunch of Tijuana cab drivers. Wrong thing to say when you're in the middle of Mexico facing a National icon. Have to hand it to Haugen though, he wasn't lacking in balls.
