I miss Dean Powell in the corner, he was calmness personified.
Dennie Mancani "he half swallowed it that round son", according to Benn he was so thrown by that statement that he actually believed it and was all geed up for the second round.

Dennie Mancini is a great shout. When Henry knocked Rod Carr clean out of the ring he kept about two thousand volatile blokes up with just a wave of the hand. Very respected.

dennie was a master - enzo used to lose his cool too much for me
in the mayorga fight Vernon forrest was told by cornerman Ronnie shields "you gotta stand up to this guy!" forrest took the advice and was counted out soon after

I have to laugh.when I boxed lads who had dean in the corner and he was giving them advice on how to bash me and not let me play mind games he was always bang on.remember thinking , shut up dean. Give me a break. Haha.

Remember helping out in the corner in a ameteur fight , Start of the fight , Boxer and Trainer are on the apron , fights just gonna start , so his trainer gives him some clear concise advice , it went like this ,,
Trainer, you fought this guy and beat him before ,,,,,, Boxer Yeh
Trainer , You beat him on points , once ,,, Boxer Yeh
Trainer , You stopped him in the 3rd last time Boxer Yeh .
Trainer ,,, Well get the fornicate out there and stop him in the first Now ,,, Cos i'm going back to the change rooms and you'll look a cant giving yourself a drink ,,
Bell went ,, his trainer said to me , Cmon lets go back and walked off ,, 30 seconds later his fighter stopped the kid ,, he said he did'nt want to look a cant

Can't argue with you on this , Thers a couple more you could throw in to the equation , but whats the point , theres lots of good trainers out there , we sometimes get carried away with the better known names , but theres lots of good trainers who have took poor to average boxers and made them good boxers ,, took good boxers and made them excellent ,, took excellent and made them champs , and so on and so on

Atlas with Moorer against Holyfield in their first fight was a little strange. Can't remember if it was the same fight or not, but the whole cell phone thing was odd too but I guess Moorer was difficult to motivate.

john ruiz trainer (cant mind his name) he went crazy during his fights, even got throwing out a few times...never knew why john stayed with him he was crazy.

Floyd joy Mayweather Sr's corner work takes some beating - i'm sure i witnessed him give a minutes silence between rounds not so long ago. He looked like he was itching give some advice, but nothing came out. Bizarre! Had he managed to blurt out whatever was on his mind, it would probably have been someBo Selecta/Ozzy Osbourne style mumbling follwed by "Sharrronn!"
