Proven against who? He's beaten a bunch of journeymen, it's a voluntary defence, they can choose whoever they want to fight, most likely whoever will fight for the least amount of money and sell the most tickets, so Hughes has possibly got the fight, since you're the only one reporting this, I'll wait until it's confirmed.

I think the fact the board hav made a few eliminators at super feather and maxi hasnt appeared in any gives the impression the lads mentioned above r more higher thought of currently by the board than maxi who has only boxed once under 3lbs above championship limit. Tho as u say it is a voluntary defence

As far as I know the board don't have rankings and the CBC definitely don't, they nominate a mandatory challenger, but for voluntaries they simply have a list of acceptable challengers and it's up to the champion to pick which one to fight. Any particular reason Walsh and Hughes won't make weight? Both are more than capable of making it, can't see there being any problems on that front.

I will put any bet on with you now that 1) the fight is off by either pulling out or 2) one or both of them don't make weight??

He's boxed an 8 rounder less than 3 pounds over, no fighter boxes at the same weight for titles as they do in shorter fights, it's not worth draining down for a nothing fight, they allowed Walsh himself to fight for the title when he hadn't made the weight before. Walsh did the weight fine for Murray, all fighters struggle with the weight to a degree, it's not meant to be easy. You've also been banging on for months that he's leaving FW, yet he's still with him, so you're hardly the most trustworthy source ever.

Time will tell.. Don't trust everything you read about weights have personally seen people weigh in more and the weight being made up to make it look close.. Also seen fighters turn up and not even weighed in so I take that with a pinch of salt.. Walsh is under contract I've been told it's out in August we will find out soon enough how true it is.. I dont mind being wrong

Yeah Should be a good fight but Mitchell looks like he could be abit special to me - I expect him to win.
Frrank needs some stars to come through so I think he night just try to fast track SMith abit quicker then usual if he thinks he's up to it.

Terrible fight. Walsh was meant to fight for a World title 2 year ago. Now he's fighting a guy below Domestic level. From what I hear Walsh was only willing to fight a lightweight and Maxi wanted it a Super Feather. Surely they must take that Commonwealth title off him. He just keeps refusing fights. He will sign with Matchroom

Hughes lost his only 10 round fight at area level, Hooper's been 10 rounds five times, won an area title, fought for the English title twice, giving both Sykes and Kays a good fight on both occasions and he's beaten Unsworth and Speight, both of whom have won area titles, on the other hand Hughes has beaten 12 journeymen. I fail to see how any of that makes him a better opponent than Hooper.
