It would be interesting to see how often matches get cancelled in other solo sports like Tennis as a comparison to boxing which seems to suffer from cancellations a ridiculous amount these days.

Financially maybe however it just adds to the already existing notion that a ticket for a Frank allegedly show is a massive gamble, and you will not get to see the advertised bill.

You play at others sports, you don't play at boxing. It maybe explains why so many fights get called off. If your not 100% going into the ring, it could cost you your life.

It might turn into a profit/break even event today but this type of thing is not good for the long term health and viability of BN or FW as a big event promoter so I doubt very much Frank is in a good place right now but who knows

But I bet your job isn't fighting someone for 30 minutes where a lack of focus or concentration could lead to you being knocked unconscious, permanently damaged or worse. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that he's engineered this situation and that the injuries/illnesses are not genuine. I just think that the short term financial gains will have a bigger impact than the longer term reputational impact.

Months of slagging every fighter off , everyone is a bum apart from Klitchsko but he's a pussy and he's chickened out of fighting Ustinov. Embarrassing ..

Come on brother if Fury aint in the right frame of mind you cant expect him to get in that ring tonight. The people who dont give a fornicate about his problems as you put it, are the same people who couldnt care less if he gets knocked spark out and ends up in a bad way. So why should Tyson get between the ropes for these people. Hes a massive Character in the heavyweight division and there will always be lots of people wanting to go to his future fights. So if a few people like yourself will not want to pay to see him after this im sure he couldnt care less

Exactly. What some people are forgetting is that FW will rely on casual punters to make the difference (in terms of attendance and therefore profitability) with events like this. Those same 'casuals' probably have no idea who the promoter is, let alone an awareness that his shows have a track record of differing from what is originally advertised. The damage done is therefore marginal, as it's only among the hardcore that such dissent brews, and most of them love the sport so much they can't stick to a 'boycott', even if they believe it's the right thing to do.

Fair point to an extent, but Fury's made a rod for his own back here. He's come out with some right rubbish saying Haye & Chisora faked injuries cos they're terrified of him, said he'd always fight no matter what etc, then pulls out because his uncle is ill?

I'm not personally going to criticise Fuy as I don't know the full circumstances (and I don't have a ticket to the fight!), but he's got to expect a lot a criticism considering everything he's said in the past.

If you sign to fight then you should fight unless unfit through injury. This is really poor especially after the stick given out to other opponents. If he didn't want to fight Ustinov he should have just said no when that was offered earlier this week.
