Robert Mckraken out of the current trainers. Hard to say all time, Eddie Thomas had a great stable.

I dont know who would be the best, but, the most sought after trainer seems to be Peter Fury.

Brendan Ingle for the reasons already given.

Mickey May was a fantastic amateur trainer.

He doesn't, at all. Most of his boxers are related. How on earth did you come to that conclusion? Eddie Chambers?

X2 in my humble opinion I have always believed that the trainer is only as good as the boxer

Definetly a who's come first chicken or the egg , theory behind it all ,, talent needs bringing along , and showing what to do , you can be born with the skill, but you need a good trainer, to show you how to utilize what you have , on the other hand , does'nt matter how good a trainer you are , if your boys don't have some natural skill , there not going to be able to put it together .

Some fighters are so good they can make the trainer but I'd say they are the exception rather than the rule.
The best trainers can take a poor fighter and make him a better fighter, can take an average fighter and make him a good fighter & they can take a good fighter and make him a great fighter.
For me George Francis & Eddie Thomas stand out and I watch with interest as Rob Mcracken develops.
I would've said Brendan Ingle but having seen his gym over the years I firmly believe he hindered as many as he helped. He created some great fighters but a hell of a lot of lads had no career cause they didn't have the natural timing and reflexes needed for his loose, preferred training style.

Amateur wise there was a North East trainer called Mick Moore who's knowledge was unbelievable but unfortunately he died young after leaving England set up and getting his own gym. Two other good amateur coaches from the North East were Lol Degnan and John Heighington.

In many cases fighters do make the trainers. It's hard to distinguish between somebody who takes on a good amateur and makes him better or an existing pro an develops his style and takes him to higher levels. As opposed to somebody like Ingle who literally created a fighter from scratch.

I would personally side with Ingle as I think many of his well known fighters were moulded in his image and style from the day they stepped foot in the gym as kids. The fact we talk about the A fighter with an "Ingle style" is testament to his effect on the game whether you like that method of fighting or not.
