Norman Wisdom! What the fornicate was he doing there?!!
I remember Toney though, he was hilarious.
Christ, Toney would really have done a number of Nigel Benn's ass.

probably Hagler vs Hearns, round 1.
More action in 3 minutes, than in Sven Ottke's entire career
Other than that, probably my secret Floyd Mayweather Jnr vs Miguel Cotto 12 rounder at the Top Rank gym before his fight with Corley.

Video Man Eric Guy must have some great behind the scenes footage. I remember seeing sparring footage he had - Watson/Kaylor/Laing/Honeyghan/Marsh. He was good mates with alot of boxers so used to end up in the dressing rooms for interviews before the fights.
I recall a very calm Michael Watson chatting away, minutes before heading off to the circus tent to hammer Nigel Benn.
Eric asked me to video a bill for him once at the Grosvenor Hotel, as I was there to support a mate who was fighting. ( He said he'd never seen such poor quality filming in all his life

)
My friend, Akash D Paul was knocked spark out in one round - and I mean OUT
He'd pre-booked a victory party at a restaurant after, which we all had to go along to anyway...........I've had better nights.
Just found his record on here too -

Norman Wisdom was actually a pretty useful amateur boxer. I remember reading somewhere he was an army champ at flyweight.

He used to box in fairground booth's as well. I'll bet he was a right nippy bastard.

Norman was giving sweets to Eubank and Benn, he was actually funny. He kept shuffing Sweets down Jonathon Woss' throat - Jonathon started to get flummuxed.
Spitting Image where there aswell, and they really made some nasty digs about Henry Coopers financial situation, Cooper took it well though.

Christ now you mention it, I can remember it now, I remember the bit with the sweets, was it on the Johnsathan Ross show or something, it's just such an unlikely group of people. Johnboy Ross, Toney, Benn, Eubank and Norman Wisdom, sounds like something you'd get in a dream after eating too much cheese.

It was called The best of Enemies - Norman was on form the night. It was kind of like "an audience with" with scripted questions, but that concept was fresh at the time.
I also have, "Benn vs Eubank II - You decide" - which was a great idea, it replayed the fight with a round by round discussion featuring four heavyweights of the boxing world (Kind, Warren, McGuigan and Nunn). Chaired by Jim Rosenthal, it was an excellent show.

Thats a good one, one recording I have that people still discuss is the Chris Eubank/ Nigel Benn hype job that feature Norman Wisdom and of course James Toney.
Toney - "I'll knock you and your mammas ass".
i remember watching that programme at the time

i wouldn't mind getting hold of that.
i agree toney would have beaten benn he just had the style to give benn serious problems.
