Remember that he holds wins over G. Hernandez, Corrales, Marquez, Hatton, Judah, Guerrero, Canelo, and Cotto.
His best wins are Corrales, Castillo, Hernandez, Dela Hoya, Cotto, and Marquez.
He doesn't have a win over a fellow great/Hall of Famer in their prime . . .(I don't count an undersized JMM), which hurts, but enough wins over very good and few great fighters to be considered an ATG (he's somewhere in the top 40 fighters of all time . .pretty good company)

Yes. Yes.

That's interesting that you think De La Hoya and Mosley were at their peaks. Mosley was at his highest peak 9 years before he fought Mayweather. De La Hoya was at his peek about 10 years before he fought Mayweather. Cotto was probably at his best 5 years before he fought Mayweather, but that's an opinion.
De La Hoya always seemed to lose to the best so I believe it doesn't really matter when he fought Floyd as the result would of been the same, he had lost 4 fights by the time he got to age 31. And with regards to Mosley to be honest I forgot about him and I agree he was at his best in late 90s to early 00s, I think that fight was just a money spinner at the time!

The only exception his he seemed to avoid fighting Kostya Tszyu and Manny Pacquaio when they were at there peaks!
Hatton, Cotto, Marquez were all past their peak, Hatton and Marquez were made to fight above their weight class.
Get with the programme.
What program you want me to get with, Marquez went on to KO Manny 3 years after he fought Floyd and lost on SD to Bradley 4 years after Floyd fight. That is some decline of a fighter that is!!!
Oh and Cotto just beat a Martinez who 2 year ago people were raving about as one of P4P best!!

sergio martinez was not listed on boxrec as an active boxer before the
cotto fight. at different times in his career, floyd wasn't listed on here
as active either. there are probably 10 times as many professional
boxers in the world as are listed as current by boxrec right now.
if i threw out a wild ass guess, i would think there have been over
a million pro boxers all time. that might even be a low number.
if you can imagine someone being an all time great soldier or all
time great doctor or all time great chess player, that pretty much means
almost all the greats in history would say this one is greater than them.
it would be like the superhero's superhero. i don't think it's an insult
to say someone is in the top 30 all time of a group that is already
somewhat exclusive, and has had world class among them from the very
beginning. at some point it becomes disrespectful to the other top guys
of past generations to start putting the best of your generation above them
just because you know them better. floyd is one of the best of his generation,
and belongs in the most elite group of a few dozen who were among the
best of past generations. he could have done more, but that is only measuring
him against the very highest standard. as money man, he is maybe #1.
in terms of fighting all the best when there was the most demand, he is
probably out of the top 20.

de la hoya was robbed in his first "loss".
he's kicking himself to this day that he coasted the last few rounds.
i was pissed when that decision was announced.
his 2nd loss was debatable, too.
i also thought he beat floyd.

Who would you favor in a Floyd-Khan fight?

It depends when a Floyd v Khan bout happened, in 12 months Khan could have really settled into the division and Maidana may have put some dents in Floyd. Floyd has to be favoured though, he has too many tools and is pretty strong too.
I think Floyd is a great boxer and he has learnt the lessons of other great boxers who were shafted by managers and promoters. He has played a very good hand with exceptional skill. There are other boxers who would have beaten him but non that would have disgraced him.

Cotto is still fighting and winning at top level - so you have to be fair to Floyd and admit that the Cotto win was a very good one. Marquez is still a top 10 P4P guy, admittedly he was the smaller man, but the ease with which Floyd beat him was impressive.
Floyd does get overrated sometimes, but he's one hell of a technician.
I agree with what you have written, but still, none were at their peak when Floyd fought them, would you debate otherwise?

You claimed they were at their peak when Floyd fought them, i refuted this as i firmly believe you are wrong on that point.
Other obvious standouts are Mosley and De La Hoya, you would have to be bonkers to claim they were at their peak when Floyd fought them.
Mayweather has an amazing resume, thats indesputable, but it lacks elite fighters in their prime. He should have fought Tyszu, Hatton, Cotto at 140lbs, Margarito, Williams at 147lbs, he should have fought Mosley much earlier, he should have fought Pacquiao when it mattered, he should not have come in heavy or pulled certain oponents out of their weight class to swing the balance in his favour.
Almost every time Mayweather has fought he could have been fighting someone deemed better by the fans, it has been the story of his career.
