There's got to be something wrong. I would have thought at least £300,000. And I meant £'s. Why on earth is he so happy to keep sending his fighters to America? It's as if him and Smith just like mixing with the big boys.

Pretty sure this doesn't include the sky money when Brian rose purse was mentioned Hearn said after he got all the sky money and I'm sure smith and Campbell are not managed so poorly they would fight for free those purses are from golden boy what Eddie pays his fighters may not be mentioned

No. This is a massive opportunity for Brook to become well known, if he wins tonight he'll start to get some real exposure over here, and maybe get an opportunity to make huge money, in the meantime - and if the released figures are correct - he'll just have to make do with what is still a very healthy chunk of money.

He's well known enough to sell more, dearer, tickets at The Sheffield Arena for this fight than will be there tonight. They could have put it on at 3.00am for US TV purposes like in the old days... Could have been a great night.

Exactly. This is the type of fight a hungry challenger should be willing to take for peanuts, the big money will come with the really big fights down the road.

Very big risk to take by Eddie with Brook's purse. It is hard to think that getting Porter over would not be that much more expensive or even going to purse bids

This ain't a BIG fight in the US. 200k isn't a terrible purse. And if Brook wins he doesn't have serious options - although I am sure ODLH will have a part of Eddies business.

People look at a top payment for an event and then assume EVERYONE gets that money ALL THE TIME. I used to be a dealer/croupier on cruise ships. You wouldn't believe the amount of times people would say to me "Oh you earn 500,000 a year". Just because one ship made $1,000 in a week once people would think we all made that every week.

200,000 is a decent wage for an unknown fighter on a non PPV fight in America.

Do you think it's a good enough offer to not go to purse bids to try get your fighter home advantage? I dunno I just expected a lot more after the wait to strike a deal and Eddie himself banging on about purse bids.

Maybe I'm just being cynical but I can't help thinking if Sky/Hearn thought he was definitely going to win I think they'd have splashed the cash. Frank would have done regardless.

For what it's worth Keith Thurman got $150,000 for his fight with Jan Zaveck who got $25,000 (and kept TV rights). Pretty sure Thurman has more purses that have been made public but still...

I feel its wise business from matchroom, short term loss for long term gain, brooks next fight will be against khan. maybe a stadium with the potential to shut the roof, 70k crown, ppv sales........15 million to be made probably 12 of which will be divided between fastcar 9m, khan 4m, kell 2m

And a fight between Brook and Khan doesn't sell anywhere near 70,000 tickets, halve that, then halve it again, then we're in the right ballpark.
