Point stands, Crawford vs Burns was fair judging.
You agree?

Traveling challengers are never ever ever taking straps off British champs in the UK. NEVER. EVER.
Erm...gave example...
...example doesn't count for some reason...?

Was there some small print some where?

When a guy wins EVERY ROUND it is a different situation and made reference to that earlier. I was talking about competitive fights with many see-saw rounds.

Would've thought my point was understood to be about real belts that carry cache and cash. Not guys who are fighting for $8,000 and many have never even heard of outside of the UK. Commonwealth belt is about the equivalent of a EBU or IBU belt. Nobody cares.

By definition those fights are close and can't be called robberies

The EBU means something to Bundu, that's how he earns his living

porter landed twice as many clean shots as brook. not
just total, but in most of the rounds.
you can count on one hand the total number of punches
brook threw in most rounds and only need two fingers
to count the number of effective punches he landed in most
rounds. this shit about brook's effective punching is ridiculous

jim watt did (who i usually complain about). i did. one of the judges scored it a draw...
will be interested to see fightscorecollector and compubox and all that
crap because i saw a lot of people give brook the first round when he landed
nothing and was outlanded in every category by a multiple. it was a clear
porter round. i'd be interested in how the ringside judges scored the first
just to see what is going on. i also thought bika-direll II was close and canelo
beat lara, and froch-kessler II was close, and algieri beat provo, so i hardly
ever agree with the majority on this forum. don't really care, though.
sometimes i'm the only one who is right. it's my cross to bear

So what are you saying diddy? Are you saying that he shouldn't have got the decision?

Who knows but Brook made Porter look clueless at times. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Brooks crisp ,punches, counters, combinations compared to Porters clueless rushing in and whaling away to the body.
Brook made it look easy.

BTW Dave Parris is renowned for turning in rubbish score cards and that was one of his worst.

Anyone who titles the thread "fanboys" then cannot pretend to be asking a serious question.

So what was the point of it?

Are you whinging that American judges gave it to the foreign fighter even though he deserved it.??
Did it pass you by that the English Judge scored it a draw?

You should really land some decent punches to win a fight, not just swing and miss and get tagged on both the way in and way out.

Do you have some examples of fights in England for major titles where the away fighter has been robbed? I kind of agree with the sentiment but can't really think of any examples off the top of my head.

Despite the negative tactics, I found it very hard to give Froch more than 4 rounds against Dirrell. Not many others that I can think of.

I thought the Beltran-Burns draw was very generous to the latter (since OP didn't just mention England), but I can't think of another recent example off the top of my head. I once thought Dirrell-Froch was a robbery, but I re-watched it and no longer believe that despite having Dirrell ahead both times.

While it's hard to think of many examples, a large part of that is the relative infrequency of major title fights in the UK that the challenger clearly deserved to win, so perhaps a better measure of the fairness of major title fight judging in the UK would consider how wide the scoring was relative to how wide it should've been. Still, I haven't seen much to believe that visiting title challengers are less likely to get a fair shake against a house fighter in the UK than in the US. It seems to me that the OP threw out a bunch of speculation about winning in the UK being "impossible" because he was cranky about tonight's result.

Johnny Nelson was gifted a draw vs Guillermo Jones for the wBOGUS CW title about 10 years ago if that counts. One of the worst decisions ever.

Can't think of many others.

On the flipside, the OP said travelling fighters NEVER EVER get given the decision in a close fight for a world title on British soil. I thought of Tim Bradley being given the nod over Junior Witter pretty quickly. I'm sure there are others.

This definitely isn't the right debate, anyway. What IS wrong with the UK's officiating is the early stoppages, but more importantly biased early stoppages. I don't think anyone here can dispute that.
