Gavin is 29 next leading contender to European and has the board named 2 mandatory fights Gavin would be in no better position he is in now than around 8/10 months time you people know boxing is a business and we have to strike now whilst the iron is hot.
Thanks
Mathebula and Terrazas are the only fighters that fit that, unless it's someone from a lower weight, which is likely with Hearn.
more than likely its almost guaranteed with Hearn

Watching the latest video with Hearn he may aswell just say it was a bottle job. For me this would've been a great 50/50 fight, the kind sky should be demanding from matchroom. It would tell us who can go on to the next level.

Sky must know that the Intercontinental Bullshit that Hearn is peddling isnt good enough. Obviously he or Gavin/His manager know their limitations & want to move forward by fighting overweight Argentinians.

True.

It would have been a good fight - the winner could have moved onwards and upwards and it wouldn't have been the end of the world for the loser who could still have competed at British level (which would be their level, with no pretences of other titles).

Sounds like ducking to me, they're looking towards the European title, so he can't fight Dickens? They don't need to do anything to get a European title fight, Galahad would take that fight in a heartbeat, fight Dickens then Galahad. If they really think he's at that level, Galahad needs an opponent next month, step up and fight him.

With all these International and Inter-Continental title fights on Sky these days,im starting to think that them and Matchroom belittle the Lonsdale belt, and the Commonwealth title for that matter

Good test actually,McDonnell's never gonna reach the heights that Jamie's reached but he could be catching Malinga at the right time,Gavins not a big puncher so even with Vusi moving up i cant see him being KO'd

McDonnell close points

On a sidenote does Ross Burkinshaw winning the Commonwealth BW title make him mandatory for the IBF title

That occured to me when Hearn was talking about Joshua on IFL, he didn't seem bothered about slinging him in for the British. I found it to be a shame.

This seems to be the norm these days, hearn sticks them in with some crap for an intercontinental, international belt and after fighting a couple of nobodys they think there on the verge of a world title fight. Alot of reallly good commonwealth and british title fights dont seem to be happening, but when youve got all the politics between promotors and every fighter thinking there world level after wining a wbo european taxi driver belt, these fights will continue to not happen.
